stripeyfox Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 anyone played this game - a few years old now but i thought i'd recomend it. Defcon Game Inspired by the 1983 classic movie "War Games" it's a deceptively strategic RTS game based on global nuclear war. Destroy your enemeies cities whilst preserving your own. Stealth attack from fleets of subs or long range bombers. Release your arsenal of long range nukes, but in doing so, give away the launch site and expose yourself to a counter attack. There's a demo, but don't buy from the official site as it's priced £ 10 and you can get it for £2.99 on Steam. Anyone played it, or buys it as a result of this let me know and we can nuke each other. I'm pretty crap at it though, but it's great watching your nukes arc their way across the world and kill millions in Moscow, London or wherever.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 I've played Defcon and have it on Steam. It's a fun game, though it does depend on everyone seeing it through and playing to the end (dropouts are obvious and get nuked to oblivion)
purpleronnie Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 I remember when wargames the movie came out I was a bit obsessed with that film as a teen. Might have a look. cheers.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 awesome game. Simple - but incredibly diverse tactics/strategy Really uunique - and as has been said ridiculously cheap
stripeyfox Posted 6 January 2011 Author Posted 6 January 2011 Steam are doing an offer where you get Uplink, Darwinia (both by the same developed) and Defcon for £ 5.99. Bargain!
