Guest Bilo Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Ugh, no. In the twenty-first century I think a lot of clubs can be forgiven for their overtly political elements or whatever skeletons in their closets ruin it for the majority. But some things are just a step too far. Lazio go there far, far too often. Aren't there two people wearing Roma scarves at the front? There isn't a lot to separate the politics of Lazio and Roma fans so it wouldn't be a shock. Both pretty vile clubs to be fair.

I've seen Lazio fans waving Nazi WW2 flags and crosses loads of times so I just googled Lazio fans and used the first image that came up but you're right, that's a good spot. Surprising, though, I didn't realise Roma's fans had any extreme political views either way to be honest.

Surprising, though, I didn't realise Roma's fans had any extreme political views either way to be honest. Felt the same to be honest mate. I've always assumed that because Roma and Lazio pretty much loathe each other and the fact that their respective fanbases are drawn from different demographics (Lazio from middle class areas of Rome, Roma traditionally a working class club) that Roma were left-wing. Not the case apparently, they're almost as bad as their neighbours.
Guest Bilo Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 And round about the same time, shortly afterwards I suppose, I also decided that the following club were brilliant basically for the same reason: I loved that kit. As a young and perhaps slightly backward child, I genuinely believed that fluorescent yellow were Dortmund's traditional colours and couldn't imagine a team playing in such garish hues in the 1930s. Looking back, I was a bit of a retard in my teenage years.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Dortmund's kits have never failed to be anything less than brilliant.
Fosse Boy Posted 14 January 2011 Posted 14 January 2011 To give Roma their dues they do have some left-leaning groups too. Think their curva is officially apolitical now. All depends on the views of the leaders as to what the "official" political stance is, hence why it often changes over time.
Simmo86 Posted 14 January 2011 Posted 14 January 2011 Lazio always my favourite Italian team because of this The supporters are shocking though. When I went to the Derby in 07 the Lazio supporters on the Nord were making monkey chants at there own player Gaby Mudingayi. Can't knock either club for their passion though, never experience anything like it in this country!
Ross-Kemp Posted 14 January 2011 Posted 14 January 2011 Simmo, who did you go to the derby with pal ?
Simmo86 Posted 14 January 2011 Posted 14 January 2011 Simmo, who did you go to the derby with pal ? Just went with 3 mates. Flew over early wednesday morning, spent the day in Rome, went to the match, night in Rome, then home on the Thursday. Match tickets only cost us something stupid like 22 euros. Was a brilliant experience, would recommend it to anyone. Had to miss the cup game at Chelsea though which was a bit of an arse!
Ross-Kemp Posted 14 January 2011 Posted 14 January 2011 Have you also done the sporting lisbon derby ?
Mickey O'Neil Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 No particular order: 1: Cov..more tinpot than Wigan & that's saying something. Most tinpot club. Ever. 2: Rangers. What can I say? 3: Hamburg. .pah! 4: ManUre or Liverpool..putting up with armchair fans at school and work has driven me to detest them. Man U probably just edge it. Saying that, both sets of real fans make up some great songs. 5: Stoke...maybe? thuggish team, thuggish fans. I'd buy RedHux a beer for his list if I knew what he looks like! Maybe when our teams meet!
martinrowland Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 1. By an absolute mile.. QPR. 2. Manchester United. 3. Fulham. 4. Forest. 5. Reading.

weluv Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 I haven't posted in a while, but for Christs' sake. All the leeds hate going on here, apparently because we're racist. That's right, we just had the first foreign black player in english football, the first antiracism campaign, the first black captain of the Bafana Bafana (whose name is sung at every game) and multiple black players in our squad. Give me one incident of large-scale racism from Leeds fans recently. You can't. Because one nutter (which all clubs have) doesn't make a group of fans. See Millwall, Norwich, Peterborough and even yourselves who've brought turkey flags to Leeds games, because taunting the families of two murdered guys is so damn great. As for 'arrogance' call it that if you will. For my money's, a team that's won something and can pull more than 20k for a big game is bigger, as a club, than Blackpool or Wigan or Stoke or whatever shit name you want to throw around. There are big clubs and there are tinpots, and we all know who's who. It's not arrogant to say Leeds are bigger and better than any League One and most Championship sides. When we have teams like Man Ure, who's corporatism is ruining UK football, or Wigan who are taking up a premier position, propped up by a sugar daddy, of a club worth a **** we have bigger bloody problems. Rant over.
Fosse Boy Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Do have to agree with weluv on some very valid points in his post but some fans (myself included) have memories of the 90s and earlier when Leeeds and racism were almost inextricable linked when they played us. That said, we can far from hold the moral high ground really. When we play them there's always some twats in our end giving it the Turkey shite.
Finnegan Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 'I'm not racist, I have some black friends.' Ever consider WHY Leeds would need to be the first team with an anti-racism campaign? In Leicester we don't judge you on reputation, we judge you by the 'town full of p...' chants, not just in the 'old days' back in Filbert Street but recently enough that it's echoed around the Walkers. Not all racism is 'black vs white.'

Finnegan Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Starting with putting Florist back where they belong? League One!
RedHux Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 No chance. Not now we're being linked with more world cup stars!
RedHux Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 He most definitely isn't. The last player we signed on the back of one goal ended up topping himself! It doesn't bode well.
