danny. Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 Yeah........and your point is exactly? It has a chorus that works, and has potential. I didn't ask you to go buy the f*****G record did I? My quoted comment was a jibe at the fact that only two songs that have been already used at Hibs are '80's classics', suggesting that the age group of the forum is a little biased to my offer of assistance. If you think 'Gold' by Spandau Ballet is a classic piece of music created by musical genius, and not copycat bland 80's rubbish inspired by more creative and alternative non-mainstream bands of the time, then you're are entitled to your opinion, but would be hypocritical to say the least. So you are saying that snorefest you posted is a better song that Gold?
sphericalfox Posted 12 January 2011 Author Posted 12 January 2011 So you are saying that snorefest you posted is a better song that Gold? This thread isn't comparing music tastes or the abject shiteness of 80's pop music and then the 'kids of today' copying said shiteness, and whether I could care less if Spandau Ballet's Gold is your favorite song, and I've deeply offended you by putting this youtube clip on here. If you are not interested in the thread go some place else!
Foxy Bingo Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 Someone on 606 came up with this to the original posted song: Wake up It's a beautiful morning Honey, while the King is still scoring Wake up Would you like to go with me? sphericalfox Posted 13 January 2011 Author Posted 13 January 2011 LOVE THIS! only problem is everyone remembering the words but I'd love to hear this at preston Good to hear I'm not the only one. Might need a small bit of tweaking but works pretty well methinks. Might have to be chorus and 1 verse though to keep it simple for the masses.

Respect the old music, and this is coming from a 17 year old. It really is a great song to sing, the Bamba version of 'Gold'.

You are missing my point HIbernian Fan. That version is fine. Nothing wrong with it. The point of the thread is to come up with something original. Not to debate the music tastes and/or musical talent that created the songs in the first place.
