The fact people in this country have only just discovered this and refer to it as the ‘Poznan’ is embarrassing.

When I lived in Cyprus in 1996-1998 I used to go Omonoia Nicosia’s home games and they did this all the time. I can’t remember what they call it but it wasn’t the fcuking Poznan.

It's known to the public as 'The Poznan'. When was the last time Omonoia Nicosia came and did it in the Prem leaders stadium.

That’s beside the point.

If you had paid attention to other continental games, especially involving Greek teams, you would have noticed this taking place in the stands for many years.

I like to watch English football, I'm not interested in crappy teams from small countries. I don't even watch Spanish football cos of all the diving every 5 seconds.

Sorry that we don't watch the football you think we should watch.

Several people seem to be missing the point that 99% of people couldn't really give a monkey's arsehole what it's called, or for how long it's been done, or how we're just 'copying' other teams etc

It's a bit of fun, and we enjoy doing it. And it can look kinda good. Does there actually need to be a fooking inquisition? Does anyone need more justification than I've just given?

There's only a couple of people missing the point and being knobs because 'they saw it first' <_<

I do it infront of the fire all the time, while I'm breathing in oxygen from a can. You gotta live..............

P.S. I don't drink and I don't smoke, I value my health I'm a real person and don't need those crutches.

Comment edited appropriately

Wish the people "that saw it first" would just sod off though, along with those who think it's "embarrassing" copying something like it off another team...

Seriously, I don’t care.

I shouldn’t be getting involved because I don’t go enough games. I like seeing people do it, and it looks really good too. Just thought people might like to know a little bit more about it...?

Anyone for a little Poznan?

Annnnnnd that's exactly why the chant will continue to be sung whenever we play Man City in future.

It was utterly embarrassing, I thought 'this is a shithole' and 'we hate forest, we hate derby' were crap, but a rendition of 'glory glory Man Utd' really took the biscuit.

It was so bad I bet some people even tried to get the wave go... oh wait

A bit of fun was 'shit Man Utd' which was pretty good, singing glory glory Man Utd made me feel like a fan of a League 2 club who will only be seeing that ground in their dreams over the next 20 years.

Completely tinpot thing to do, and only emphasises the (ever increasing) utterly moronic and single figure IQ section of our support

Lighten up a bit. Who gives a **** ?

 It can be hard to differentiate sometimes. There certainly are annoying buggers out there that have moaned about the fact that we're sometimes doing it, you're obviously not one of those so no hard feelings!

Tbf though you did say it's 'embarrassing' everyone calling it "The Poznan" - come on, it can't be that embarrassing if we're all getting it wrong together? ;)

Unrelated P.S. Mexican Waves during games are the one thing I personally can't abide by, if I ever become CEO of the FA I'm gonna ban them with immediate effect...

Well it's that kind of thing that annoys people, I mean it really isn't a big deal, and we aren't embarrassing because we don't know anything about something that's done in other countries.

Like you say, it's a bit of fun, it's not that important what it's called.

I think the most embarrasing thing is that alot of supporters in this country believe they are the best in world, by giving "banter" to the opposition fans, rather than supporting there team, :frusty:

alot of people are too narrow minded to actually look at supporters from other countries, and into the different supporter cultures :dunno:

I'm so glad I didn't hear the glory glory man united chants if indeed there were some dead heads singing it, It's absolutely cringe worthy and embarrassing, sing OUR songs ffs! .. of all clubs to sing about too,

And on the debate of "the bigger club" its man city hands down, it doesn't mean we are second rate just smaller! ... we are only second rate when we sing united songs!

I was stood at the right edge of our support last night and in general our effort was amazing. We were only seperated by 2 rows of seats, a flimsy bit of netting and a few stewards. It was refreshing to see genuine bantor between the two sets of fans having ago at each other through songs at the appropriate times. There were no idiots turned to face the Man C making willy puller signs or offering them out and none of the Man C fans did this either.

Grecque fanatic since poznan was a lad.
