ibbosuk Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 I just think most of the county are braindead chavs now, cheers labour. I think people who can afford it should join the Trafalgar Club.......
Kitchandro Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 I'd massively disagree with that bit about Man City being a similar size to us even if you disregard the money What have Man City done that's better than us in the last 30 years? We've both been bouncing between the top 2 divisions and spent 1 year in the 3rd.
Raj Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 The Glory Glory Man Utd chant was shameful and it was an Embarrassment to City fans. better to be silent than sing abouyt other clubs. The 'Your just a shit Man Utd' was funny tho! Credit for City fans in general.
Jackirius Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 Bloody hell, it was only a chant aimed to wind up the Man City fans. The way you lot are talking about it we were singing a despicable racist chant. It isn't an 'embarrassment' it was clearly a joke. We should be congratulating how well we were supported and not arguing over a song which is in the whole aimed at the Man City fans as a bit of fun. It was a bloody football chant get over it.

Annnnnnd that's exactly why the chant will continue to be sung whenever we play Man City in future. It was utterly embarrassing, I thought 'this is a shithole' and 'we hate forest, we hate derby' were crap, but a rendition of 'glory glory Man Utd' really took the biscuit. It was so bad I bet some people even tried to get the wave go... oh wait A bit of fun was 'shit Man Utd' which was pretty good, singing glory glory Man Utd made me feel like a fan of a League 2 club who will only be seeing that ground in their dreams over the next 20 years. Completely tinpot thing to do, and only emphasises the (ever increasing) utterly moronic and single figure IQ section of our support
Ozwin Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 I bet you there were a couple of United fans in our end, you know the sort, the ones that are Leicester fans when it suits them.
Dan Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 Absolutely small-time as fvck and totally embarrassing, great night out but that was pathetic.
samlcfc Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 The amount of people that sung it surprised me to be honest. Didnt join in, thought it was stupid. Why would you wanna sing chants about another team when weve got enough to represent ourselves aha. Sounded well retarded
Ford Super Sunday Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 I can't wait for Derby away, i'm gonna start chanting 'AND IT'S NOOOOOTINGHAMM FOREST, NOTTINGHAM FOREST FC' at the Derby fans. It's a joke you see, to wind them up because Forest are there rivals. I'm such a joker, it;'ll go down well I think.
Raj Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 Slight over reaction I think, get over it. Its not the end of the world for people to chant it BUT it made the club feel like a tin pot League 2 outfit with nothing else to sing about(as already mentioned) Would you expect West HAm fans to sing "Arsenal,Arsenal Arsenal' to Spurs supporters? remember who you support!
Marmite Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 People need to chill out a bit the chant was just a bit of fun and alot of the city fans where we were sitting were just laughing

Kitchandro Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 I think you can get a bit too annoyed with one chant tbh. I agree we shouldn't sing it and it probably was a bit cringeworthy but is it really worth it's own thread? There are more important things to worry about.
Tom17LCFC Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 Didn't hear that tbh, just had a small group up near me singing 'united, united, united'. People have overreacted but I can see what you mean about it making us look like a small club. Cringeworthy! Would've rather everyone just watched the game and not taken part in that bit. Still, top day out!

Jackirius Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 Why is it that if a group of people sing something which you don't agree with they automatically have a low IQ and are considered chavs? I would say that the people who automatically assume that these people are of a lesser class than them are the ones who are truly half-baked.
Alexikokopops Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 What have Man City done that's better than us in the last 30 years? We've both been bouncing between the top 2 divisions and spent 1 year in the 3rd. It depends how you look at it. You could look at them as a club that has won league titles, FA Cups, and a European title, which was the angle I wa coming from. Even if you look at just the past 30 years they've always had a bigger support. Understandable because of the size of Manchester compared to Leicester of course, but still bigger. At the end of the day though, how "big" a club is is such a subjective subject that no one's ever going to agree, because we all have different criteria of what makes a club "big"
Master Fox Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 "The Poznan" isn't a team specific thing though, it's done by many teams on the continent. The fact people in this country have only just discovered this and refer to it as the ‘Poznan’ is embarrassing. When I lived in Cyprus in 1996-1998 I used to go Omonoia Nicosia’s home games and they did this all the time. I can’t remember what they call it but it wasn’t the fcuking Poznan.

I would say that the people who automatically assume that these people are of a lesser class than them are the ones who are truly half-baked. I wasn't actually referring to one chant in particular, just making a more general observation about the demographic make-up of our support, which to me seems to be tending towards more and more of the very apparently braindead chavs I mentioned. Like for example, spending the ENTIRE Man City home tie making hand gestures and shouting meaningless abuse at the away fans, with pretty much no attention at all paid to the match? I'm 110% in favour of good banter but if you garner enjoyment from waving your hands around like a conductor every time a song starts up in the away end then I'm sorry, you go down in my braindead category...

Master Fox Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 Sorry but we haven't all been to Cyprus That’s beside the point. If you had paid attention to other continental games, especially involving Greek teams, you would have noticed this taking place in the stands for many years.
