z-layrex Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 Have been a LC fan ever since I was a little kid as my Grandad lived in Coalville and took me to my first football games, but live near Croydon in a town that is generally full of Palace fans. I tend to have an interest in them just because most of my friends support them so end up going to a few home and away games a season, as obviously much easier to get to (also very hard to find people to come with me to Leicester games these days). Today went to see a terrible home game against Bristol City, both teams looked like they were struggling, just a very cold and boring match. We were singing the whole game tho, i'm not even a Palace fan and I sung my heart out for the sake of my friends and their club. But everyone around us just gave us shi**y looks the whole game. When I go to Leicester games i'm either on my own or with my gf so it's not really a singing occasion, so I have nothing to compare to. Is this pretty common in football, to get such mean looks just for supporting the team? It's a shame if so.
ajthefox Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 Sometimes yeah, I think thats what stops support in this country ever being like it is in some places on the continent. We're a product of our culture and it's not that people won't chant, more that half the time there are too many who will look begrudingly at one or a small group of people and it puts you off.

kylestyle06 Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 It doesn't put me off at all.... "I'll sing on my own... I'll sing on my owwwwnn.. Were so quiet, I'll sing on my own... " is what I sing when people give me shit looks. I'll support my team whatever, **** the flask brigade.

Corky Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 I've never realy noticed it, but it wouldn't bother me if it happened. People support their team in different ways, as long as the songs aren't offensive I don't see a problem.
