MikeyT Posted 17 February 2011 Author Posted 17 February 2011 That's Steep Hill The white bar is up the mega steep bit. There's a good sweet shop that sells kola kubes around there. Useless fact after useless fact Never a useless fact where those sweets are concerned. Haven't seen them in years anywhere.
Alexikokopops Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 I wonder why they call Steep Hill Steep Hill? It took me 22 years to work it out
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Hi everyone, as an amateur photographer i love heading out to places with wildlife and spectacular views. Now, other than places like the obvious such as Bradgate Park, is there anywhere you good people can suggest that might be worth visiting? We seem to be somewhat limited here in Leicester for places like this. I know Derbyshire has the Peak District and all that, but very little around our area, that i'm aware of anyway. Thanks in advance. Cheers. MikeyT. Hmmmmmmm - you sure this is not a pretense to find dogging sites?
rico Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 So, what do you expected to see in the East Midlands ? Sydney Opera House, ? The hanging gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the Serengeti ? Si,Mr Fawlty

FoxesFan100 Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Hi Miket T, a place or places i suggest is Buxton, oor the Derbyshire dales, there is some amazing land scenery, i take the local transpeak bus to derby and some of the views that you see on the bus are quite simply breath-taking, if you got a day or so free you could always try there Hope this helps a bit buddy
