Places to visit in the East Midlands

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, as an amateur photographer i love heading out to places with wildlife and spectacular views. Now, other than places like the obvious such as Bradgate Park, is there anywhere you good people can suggest that might be worth visiting?

We seem to be somewhat limited here in Leicester for places like this. I know Derbyshire has the Peak District and all that, but very little around our area, that i'm aware of anyway.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

So, what do you expected to see in the East Midlands ?

Sydney Opera House, ? The hanging gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the Serengeti ?

:D;)

Twycross Zoo.

Has the largest primate collection in the world.

shouldn't this be tagged to Zingari's remark about Coalville?

How about places such as Groby Pool and Thornton Reservoir?

Yep been to both of those, cheers mate.

Took about 200 shots at Groby Pools towards the end of last year as the sun was setting one night. One of the shots here:

Lincoln, at the top of Steep Hill. The castle and Cathedral are just the start

Cheers, yeah have visited the Cathedral a couple of times but never the Castle so may have to give that a look. Cheers.

There's also a lot of old streets aroun there with nice buildings. Steep Hill itself is pretty good as well, lovely street. Steep, mind.

Took this one in Lincoln, no idea what the name of the street is though.

That's Steep Hill  The white bar is up the mega steep bit. There's a good sweet shop that sells kola kubes around there. Useless fact after useless fact

Beacon Hill is quite nice... Haven't been there in years though...

Went up there on Boxing Day morning when the snow was there. It's quite nice there in the right weather. :)
