North-LondonFox Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 Gary Neville wasn't slow, but I really think it is a major asset for a full back to be quick in he modern game. I'd much rather a quick left back this Saturday to face QPR and Routledge.
CosbehFox Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 I feel very sorry for the poor kid,and that's all he is,he's 19.What chance does he have ? He arrives here, labelled as,'The new Ashley Cole'.No pressure then is there !? He has talent,is learning.Give him a chance. He labelled himself the next Ashley Cole!
nickelbyfox Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 He labelled himself the next Ashley Cole! Don't think he did, just kept on saying he learns and aspires to be like Ashley Cole. Interviewers ask him the same question every 5 minutes
STEVIE B Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 He labelled himself the next Ashley Cole! Are you sure of that ? I know Chelsea think he is.Just seems odd for a Dutchman to liken himself to an English player ?
ACF Posted 2 March 2011 Posted 2 March 2011 If people don't think fullbacks don't need to be quick, look at Dani Alves, Ashley Cole and even Patrice Evra, three of the beat fullbacks in the world, the one thing they have in common is pace. The game is changing.
VampLCFC Posted 2 March 2011 Posted 2 March 2011 I thought Benny Mee could also play left back? Stick him in, Bamba and Bruma in the CD positions (although I'm still a bit unconvinced by Bruma)
