Bettsj2 Posted 23 March 2011 Posted 23 March 2011 Just get a ****ing safety certificate. Why is that such a big deal? I'm not allowed to wear open toed sandles in my office as it's a health and safety hazard. I dont ****ing cry about it I just wear shoes. It's the world we live in ladies. Stop crying and get on with it.
Crampy10 Posted 23 March 2011 Posted 23 March 2011 only a conversation bettsj so get over it, i read plenty of stuff i dont agree with 'but its the world we live in ladies' so dont ****ing cry about it' and it sounds like you want to get some new footwear, open toed sandals?? are you 70 with a beard.

Stop crying and get on with it. Why should you lie down and accept it though? It's wrong, fact, and over the top. If we're not gonna challenge and stand up for the things that are wrong then where will we get? Rolling over will just cause more shit and not help in the long-run. Can't comment on whether you could wear open-toed sandles to work and it not being a risk as I don't know what you do.

Stop crying and get on with it. He has a point here. The biggest "up yours" you can give the stewards imo is to just slap a certificate in their faces when they ask for one. It can't be that hard to get one. Of course they will only then just find something else to moan about. But it will shut them up for a while.
1964FOX Posted 23 March 2011 Posted 23 March 2011 Any flag bought from the club store already has a fire certificate. Don't talk rubbish, the material it's made from clearly is not fire proof it's quite low cost and does not even have any tag or confirmation of testing to any form of standards. Do you actually know what a fire safety certificate looks like, it does concern me you are allowed to be a steward with your lack of basic knowledge. The club shop selling flags and allowing them in just makes a farce of any attempts to stop other flags in the ground on the condition they require a fire safety certificate. It's purely a tactic used to get at fans that are not in favour with the club. Before this season flags were in the ground on a regular basis without problem with the notable exception of the Derby surfer. Refusing certain fans flags just opened a hornets nest and a hit and miss policy has been applied ever since. On a positive note it does seem to have settled down and most flags are allowed in now with little or no fuss, I would advise the originator of this thread to persevere.
Bettsj2 Posted 23 March 2011 Posted 23 March 2011 Imagine this, a chap in the crowd decides to have a cheeky fag because he doesn't want to 'roll over' and accept something that he deems to be wrong. On flicking some ash, a hot ash rock lands on an uncertified flag and unfortunately ignites. The flag erupts into flames and causes panic. People try to surge forward to get away from the flames and unfortunately people lose their balance and topple over crushing a young child and killing them. Afterwards, an investigation deems that the flag had no safety cert and would not have got one due to the manufacturers neglect and the highly flammable material the flag was made from. Now this is completely far fetched and ridiculously unlikely but all health and safety is wrong and ridiculous and seems like we're living in a nanny state until someone dies. But by then it's too late to ask the question, why did noone do something to prevent this? If somebody had said pre hillsborough, that if they let 200 extra people stand in a terraced area, a surge could result in multiple deaths, the reaction would have probably been similar to this flag situation. As unfair or as factually wrong as you think this may be, health and safety legislation has our best interests at heart whether you like it or not, and whether you like it or not, it's made our society a safer place. And as for the dig about 70 and long hair from a previous poster, what the **** is that supposed to mean?

Thankfully modern health and safety laws recognise this and extreme and bizarre hazards and instances do not have to be catered for. As long as reasonable steps have been taken to prevent accidents happening and a full risk assessment carried out then it cover the club. A reasonable compromise would be to insist all flags are sprayed with fire retardant spray (costs a few pounds) rather than insisting on safety certificates that realistically are only issued to flags costing hundreds of pounds.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 March 2011 Posted 23 March 2011 Crampy10-as far as I was aware barmy flags are used by the majority of england fans you see with flags at wembley. Theyre dead strict about them there, so presume they come with a certificate
The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 March 2011 Posted 23 March 2011 What flag you got?im off to baadiff n all
Mack Posted 23 March 2011 Posted 23 March 2011 The fella in front of me at the Narrrrrrrrrich game could have set most inanimate objects alight with his arse. Rancid.
EnglishOxide Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 EnglishOxide, I'm beginning to worry whether your lack of understanding football fans is because you are so high up at Leicester you are so fortunate to spend a lot of time with Kevin Barclay(his lack of sense must rub off) or because you steward the family stand and don't know how to deal with anything other than people looking for there seats and rarely interact with supporters with real issues. Where the hell do you get off spreading this bullshit about me? Firstly, i am not 'high up' at all. If i was, i probably wouldn't give a shit about what anybody on here thinks because i'll be minted. Secondly, i know pretty well about how to deal with all sorts of football fans too having been in the job for a while. Thirdly, what the hell makes you think i don't understand football fans? *edited because the original post made me come across as more angry than i am*

EnglishOxide Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 It wasn't me who gave a prejudice judgement in the first place. Anybody who does that is a tosser.

Anyone who observes someone going to get there food at the football and comments on it on a forum is a tosser, plus you run around doing what Barclay tells you and seem to genuinely believe it's correct, double tosser.
Crampy10 Posted 28 March 2011 Posted 28 March 2011 For anyone that is bothered, the welsh fa couldnt care less about the flags, no one searched or asked for certificates etc. Allowed to put them anywhere, the stewards were dead relaxed etc a far cry from wembley. Also as I had it up who should walk by but an old Leicester Legend Ian Marshall!! hopefully the image will load here but not sure how to do but if not I will change my avatar
