Ashley Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 I have been taking my England flag to Leicester games for the past four or five games and not once have I been told to take it down! The England flag even went to Scunthorpe last week and I wasn't even told to take it down. The flag is always at the back of N Block on the plastic hooks, now today I got told to take it down 18 minutes into the game. Why wait until 18 minutes in to ask me to take it down? I wasn't allowed my flag up because today because it hasn't got a fire certificate(why wait until today to ask me if it has?) Has the Fosse Boys one got one?(not causing trouble) has the LE4 one got one at the bottom of L Block? Have people in the ground got fire certificates for their clothes? IF it did have a fire certificate then what? Our club is a joke.
jamesmilner Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 i see away fans flags up at their end . do you think they bring their fire certificates with them ? doubt it . just buy the biggest fire certificated england flag with lcfc on it you can and be happy .

I'm sure you could find a certificate on the net and print it off, don't think the stewards would know the difference between a fake/real one
bigjohn Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Health and safety in general is a joke, not just in football grounds.are the stewards flamable? do they have a certificate?
Fosse Boy Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Wondered why that disappeared. Joke. Fire safety certificates are only required for overnight storage in the ground. Looks like a certain someone at the club is on a moral crusade again to purge the fans of anything colourful or atmospheric.

FuriousFox46 Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Yep at this time of the season all Leicester fans' biggest concern is your flags certification in the event of a fire...... <_<
FrankieADZ Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 welcome to a country which has generally gone over the top with Health and Safety.
m00nie Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 maybe we should get a flag of a fire certificate made up.. too many inconsistencies within the club regarding rules.. dont actually think its all that hoos fault, just certain stewards being dicks.. they seem to allow the masses and yet single targets gets screwed over..

I had my anti perspirantt taken off me at Scunthorpe as was told it was an offensive weapon - i told them so are my armpits if i dont use it! Totally stupid!

Dylan Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Do people's clothes have a fire certificate? Surely as dangerous as a flag? And people's shoes/trainers. They could build up friction whilst walking building up a massive charge which could spark and blow up the stadium.
lcfcadam Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Our club is a joke. And I wouldn't even need to read the rest of what you posted.

purpleronnie Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Is it difficult/expensive to get a certificate?
Fosse Boy Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Oh, speaking of H&S double standards anyone else see the groundsman sprint through the parading kids at half-time with a pitchfork prongs up. Came very close to making a kebab out of one little lad. Oh, and it's OK to ride motorbikes around the pitch with children about, but flags will be the death of us all? Ridiculous.
EnglishOxide Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 You weren't the cheeky fecker diving under the barrier to go around the seats to go down and come back up with a pie or somesuch were you?
Guest Bilo Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Regarding getting fire certificates, I think you can do one of two things. Request one if you're buying a flag from a supplier, somebody like Barmy Flags for example provide them with every purchase. If this is not possible, you should be able to buy some fireproofing solution online that won't damage the fabric and you may be able to get a fire certificate from the local fire station. I think they cut off a small section of the flag and if it doesn't burn, it's good. All this said though, the stewards have no real reason to ask for fire safety certificates seeing as the only time they're legally required is when they are stored on the premises overnight. Not that LCFC would make up their own rules as they go along to suppress any enjoyment they can't directly control of course.
1964FOX Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 I took a Japan flag in today with no fire safety certificate, as it had been actively encouraged by the club in a Leicester Mercury article earlier in the week and on a thread on this forum. You could also go to the club shop and buy one of the flags they have for sale which also don't have fire safety certificates but they are allowed in the ground, according to the shop staff and I had no problem taking that in either.
Dan Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Fvck me. This nation seriously is a fvcking joke. Funny how they supported us taking Japan flags, surely that's also unsafe? I'd rather there were the Japan flags than none at all, but our club are so beyond pathetic.

Any flag bought from the club store already has a fire certificate.
Salieri Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Any fan could spontaneously combust at any point, have the club thought of that? I doubt it. Forget banning flags, they might need to consider banning fans who don't possess a fire certificate. Makes sense.
