Lisburn Fox Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 Win all of our remaining games, if it gets us into the play offs all well n good, if it does not it should help Sven decide who to keep for next season. Do I think we will get to the play offs - No. Do I think we will go up next season - No Do I wish the answers were different - Yes
lcfcadam Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 I wonder if the plethora of other teams in and around mid-table mediocrity with the same number of, or in some cases more, points than us still think they're in with a genuine chance of making the play-offs. If we looked like we were in reality a good enough team to go on a big run of wins from now till the end of the season then it would be reasonable, but clearly we don't...
beaumont fox Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 looks like never say die city fans have gone!!! thats what i hate about some city fans all they ever do is slate the team.. just carry on supporting the blue army, whatever the outcome. or else we are beggining to sound like shite man utd fans attitude win league or else your rubbish.. so come on the best fans in the country keep the faith till the end, sorry for moaning
Stevosevic Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 By the weekend we will be 7 points off with 7 games left. 7 wins probably wouldn't see us get in the play-offs, no chance people. Just enjoy the remaining few games and Sven's rebuilding in the summer.
buzzy Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 & Nottingham Forest & Watford because they are all around us. We're not out of it, only four points I think, but we need to beat teams around us now (obviously). Starting with Burnley on Saturday. I don't get the 2 Chelsea clowns bit. I hope that doesnt include Van Aanholt because he did nothing wrong in my opinion. His getting forward was great and his crossing was great. but he can't defend and thats his job
Karljohn Posted 4 April 2011 Posted 4 April 2011 We have as much chance of being promoted as i have having a threesome with Cameron Diaz and Jessica Biel Bet Sven's had them on loan too
lcfcadam Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 looks like never say die city fans have gone!!! thats what i hate about some city fans all they ever do is slate the team.. just carry on supporting the blue army, whatever the outcome. or else we are beggining to sound like shite man utd fans attitude win league or else your rubbish.. so come on the best fans in the country keep the faith till the end, sorry for moaning It's hardly like the people who are saying the season is over aren't "supporting the team" any more - I'll still be following every game intently like I always do and will feel great if we win - it's just that some of us eventually tire of endless, baseless, optimism when it has already become clear that every single team in mid-table has as much of a chance of getting in the play-offs as we do. I'm not saying it definitely can't be done, but personally I'm just not allowing it to be the definition of the rest of the season because I'm fairly sure that will just lead to disappointment.
Guy Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 Still impossible to predict - much like predicting who will be dropping out of the Prem. is atm! I well remember we were in this identical positon in M.O'Neill's first season at a similar time of that season but we got a 0-1 win at Charlton courtesy of Claridge and the rest, as they say, is history (sadly!!). I think we won our last six to reach the play offs back then though and had a settled enough team to do that - much like we did last season too under Pearson when we won our last five games. As much as it pains me to say it, I can't see us repeating that this time, though I'd love to be wrong of course! I think there's just been too much upheaval this season under Sven to have mounted a genuine promotion push, incl. too many loan players at present (although it was partly to repair the early season damage inflicted by Sousa). Also Sven's doing things like selling established players like Morrison (who scofred his fair share of goals last season) and Fryatt (ditto) didn't really help in my opinion. Then once we lost our momentum in late February from the great post New Year run of seven straight wins then I think that was season over for us.......but we'll see.......
ozleicester Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 We have as much chance of being promoted as i have having a threesome with Cameron Diaz and Jessica Biel Have you asked them? We had a great time...
