Matt Posted 8 April 2011 Author Posted 8 April 2011 I had £20 on Masterminded @ 4/1. Lovely return. Well Done, Totally overlooked Master Minded, having said I tend to have my blinkers on whenever Albertas runs. Had Albertas E/W so returned almost evens, still love the horse, fantastic run by him albeit not a winning run. Had Alfa Beat who fell, got Kilcrea Kim in the 4.50 so hopefully that is damage limitation for the week. Not a great couple of days betting but oh well, Still £10 - 15 up from Cheltenham (Won £50ish on Cheltenham, lost around £35 at Aintree) so still 'up' that's how I justify it. Just hope I have more luck tomorrow/in the national tomorrow.

isaidno Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 I've got Vic Venturi in the sweepstake at work. Think I'm going for Silver By Nature
Matt Posted 8 April 2011 Author Posted 8 April 2011 I also had Alfa Beat and felt most confident about that bet than any others i had today. Who are you going for in the national? Not sure yet, not had a proper look. I like the sound of the favourite - The Midnight Club, i'll be having a go on last years winner Don't Push It, and then after that not really sure, probably having a few mid range, and 1 or 2 outsiders. Gutted i'll be missing the race, half tempted to e-mail the club and request them to show it on the big screen! Might be more interesting than the football! I love but hate these festival/big races! I always end up spending too much, can't help myself! Oh FFS just looked at the 4.50 result, Kilcrea Kim you fucking donkey!
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 C'mon Albertas save me once again Hmmmm - went with my heart more than my head, just didn't feel like it would be his day, but I couldn't not bet on him. I felt this field was tougher than the Cheltenham field he faced and Master Minded certainly jumped out as a worry. Some interesting runners before the National tomorrow, including Cue Card, Dan Breen and Oscar Whisky.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 Can any one provide a link to a decent on-line form guide for the national
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 Can any one provide a link to a decent on-line form guide for the national Sporting Life - There was some interesting reads in here. The Racing Post has some decent stats, etc too. And even the BBC Sport site has a decent mini guide to the National.
Matt Posted 9 April 2011 Author Posted 9 April 2011 Right i've gone for; Don't Push It. The Midnight Club. What A Friend. Quinz. Or Noir De Somoza. All E/W with Mark Jarvis offering 5 places, normally I go Betfred but only offering 4 places has lost my business slightly better odds at Betfred but I prefer the extra safety net of an extra place. Really hoping AP can do it again on Don't Push It and all the rest come in places ...Unlikely now i've bet on it
