Christoph Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Like everyone else, vitor for bruma tbh. Just hope he doesnt **** up today, we need this win so bad
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Sven is a top manager, we all know that. He has took us from bottom of the league to within touching distance of the play offs, but he needs to stop dropping players after they have played well or we haven't lost. That just seems a big myth that everyone believes. But the real question is, what has he done in recent years? Nothing. He lives off the past success in Italy with Lazio or whoever, and that was in the 90s. He has done nothing since then has he? All his time here he has tinkered with the team when it wasnt needed, and he has actually created a rod for his own back by his strange team selections. With all the wage money he has spent, we should actually be doing better in my opinion. But these last five games will prove how good he is, but as usual, under pressure, I expect Sven to prove nothing and we'll finish short.

Look at us before he came. There's two examples of what he's does post 1990.
Rich Fox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Alright, have your opinions but we deserve to lose? Because of 1 player you don't agree with. Give it a rest. It is a disgrace having to play Bruma because it has been agreed with Chelsea that he plays. What do you think this does for team morale to know whatever you do all week in training counts for nothing and Bruma plays whatever happens? Do you think its a coincidence our defence has been crap since sven started chopping and changing defence?
MikeyT Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 We could have Mourinho in charge and people would moan. No pleasing everyone. Far Post Gerry Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 I just tried to explain the Bruma situation (has to play every game - allegedly) situation to my missus. She suggested we start him, then just sub him after 10 mins if he's looky shaky. We keep our end of the bargain and Vitor/Mee get 80 mins. Given that my missus knows sod all about football, I thought that was a surprisingly good idea...
Lester LXXIV Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 I feel the same as everyone else, must be something written into the loan deal for Bruma to walk back into the side! Prefer to have Vitor back in the middle, gives me much more confidence! Gally should be starting as he makes things happen and good for set pieces but understand that we may need to have players up for a scrap in the middle of the park. Would have brought Yuki in instead of King! I just tried to explain the Bruma situation (has to play every game - allegedly) situation to my missus. That's an entirely different point (which I agree with) but you said 'we deserve to lose' for playing Bruma.
Mack Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Anyone who saw Bruma do a superb job on Tarrabt at Loftus Road not so long ago will know what a good player he is.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Weale, Van Aanholt, Oakley ©, King, Bruma, Naughton, Wellens, Yakubu, Bamba, Vassell, Kamara. What is Sven's fascination? What the fook has he dropped Mee and Vitor for?

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Look at the England team since he left. Look at us before he came. There's two examples of what he's does post 1990. The England team he had available to him was the best in years. Should have done much much better than a couple of Quarter finals. He showed his tactical weaknesses in those tournaments, making poor decisions throughout. He took just four strikers to 2006 and two got injured. Very clever that was. What has he actually got to show for 'what he has done' then? Spent shit loads at Man City, and left them in a similar position to where they started off with him. He also had a good start there and lost the plot results wise, similar situation here. He has done nothing, but somehow lives off a very old, and false reputation. Managing international teams in European Championships and World Cups? What has he achieved? Should have gone further with England with the players he had available, and did sweet FA with Ivory Coast. But hey he has been there so he must be good.

Nobody else will come to Leicester with a better record than him but all you can bloody say is 'what has he done?' get a ****ing grip. Being one of the best is a myth is it!? Look at that record.
Rich Fox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 We could have Mourinho in charge and people would moan. No pleasing everyone. Where has that ever been said? They wont come out and admit it will they? Do you think Sven has put Bruma in and dropped Vitor for the good of the team. Think the official line is we save money if Bruma plays every game.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Anyone who saw Bruma do a superb job on Tarrabt at Loftus Road not so long ago will know what a good player he is. I saw Zsolt Lazcko put in a great show vs Cov at home in 2008, so he was also a good player was he? One performance means nothing, its consistency that counts especially at this stage of the season.
The Doctor Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Bruma? I'm sure he could be a good player but: Vitor & Bamba are better and Mee offers more balance in the centre - Unless he's gonna drop Bamba, bruma shouldn't be anywhere near the starting line up, neither can play at LCB whereas mee can and so can vitor. Meanwhile that frontline looks positively potent.

Err he took us to the world cup quarter final with pretty much the same squad that failed to even qualify for Euro 2008. I have no idea what he did at Man City, didn't really follow that one. Anyway, get this thread back on track, let's hope he proves himself today seen as he's done nothing in his career and is a shit manager.

And I go back to my original point: What has he done in recent years? Nothing. Those years next to those trophies he has won shows that. Football can pass people by, it changes and managers sometimes need to change with it. Happened to Brian Clough, he won back to back European Cups, but the more he went on he didnt change with football and went downhill. He has even admitted that too. Its not just me moaning about Sven, have you seen all the other posts about his selections?! Most people in the thread have moaned about Bruma playing. And I suppose his appearances for the Dutch National team are also a one off fluke? Well it would help if he was Dutch and not Hungarian. to be honest, this is an EXCELLENT cv, however, to be fair, its all done 10 years ago.........what about recent achievements?

Got them into about 8th, with a fraction of the money Hughes + Mancini have at their disposal and fielding a reserve side for half the season due to injuries, lead them to a double over manure - something very few man city managers have done in recent years. I'd say he did a fairly good job.
ScouseFox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 He's Hungarian? I'd hazard a guess that Mack was talking about Bruma's caps for Holland
