The Doctor Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Well it would help if he was Dutch and not Hungarian. He's Hungarian? Bruma isn't hungarian. Mack was refering to Bruma's appearances for the dutch national team.
Mack Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Well it would help if he was Dutch and not Hungarian. I'm talking about Bruma. He's 19 year old. Had already played for the Chelsea and Holland first 11. He was outstanding in keeping Tarrabt at bay. He is a huge talent with massive ability in my opinion, and what he has achieved at such a young age backs that up.
ScouseFox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Got them into about 8th, with a fraction of the money Hughes + Mancini have at their disposal and fielding a reserve side for half the season due to injuries, lead them to a double over manure - something very few man city managers have done in recent years. I'd say he did a fairly good job. Doesn't sound that bad to be fair But obviously not good enough, he lost his marbles in the late 90s and has been a shit manager ever since, apparently.
Bugg Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Zsolt Lackzo plays for Sampdoria now so he must be pretty good now.

He clearly isnt a bad player, as he wouldnt be at Chelsea. But his overall performances here havent been as good as either Mee's or Vitor's, and you cant keep playing someone who needs time to improve at this stage of the season, its make or break. You keep going on about the QPR game, he wasnt in central defence for that game, I'd like to see him revert back to the sort of defensive midfield role, as maybe he would do better there for us consistently.
Brown Fox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 And I go back to my original point: What has he done in recent years? Nothing. Those years next to those trophies he has won shows that. Football can pass people by, it changes and managers sometimes need to change with it. Happened to Brian Clough, he won back to back European Cups, but the more he went on he didnt change with football and went downhill. He has even admitted that too. Its not just me moaning about Sven, have you seen all the other posts about his selections?! Most people in the thread have moaned about Bruma playing. Well it would help if he was Dutch and not Hungarian. At Man City he got them into Europe and the fans loved the job he was doing but got sacked after a year by their mad owner. The Mexico job was never going to succeed with the politics there. Ivory Coast he was in the group of death and was only appointed 2 months before the world cup. In all of these jobs he was only given a year or less. What do you seriously expect him to do in a year. He's not ****ing god. Best England manager for years. Plus the games against Portugal are harsh on him. When it goes to penalties there's nothing a manager can do. Who would you prefer?

There's no doubt he's got HUGE potential, just dazzled at the fact he's been brought in when our defence looked comfortable on Tuesday- and our attack was the problem. And I think why most people 'dislike' him now is because of his stupidity which cost us 2 points at Boro. If he conceded the pen, it went in and he kept his mouth shut then fair enough he made a mistake. But we saved the penalty then he mouthed off to the ref which was utter stupidity and imo cost us 2 pts by getting sent off. If he's playing, I'll cheer him on all the way (like any Leicester fan should), and hope he plays a blinder to silence us all.. but until he does that, your always going to get people against him.

Karljohn Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Well whoever likened SGE to Claudio Ranieri on Crack was absolutely correct, the man clearly has his favourite individuals, keyword being individuals because its been a while since we played as a team Burnley fixture aside.

I don't think anyone is suggesting a 'Sven out' campaign - we are simply making the point that Sven has A. Become a tinkerman and B. His achievements were mainly a decade + ago

Here's the team from QPR... GK Ricardo RB K. Naughton CB S. Bamba CB J. Bruma LB B. Mee M Y. Abe M M. Oakley M A. King M R. Wellens F Y. Aiyegbeni F D. Vassell What are you on about mate?
Dylan Posted 16 April 2011 Author Posted 16 April 2011 I'm sure I've heard somewhere he's supposed to have an 'Alex Bomb' of a shot... Get him to shooooooooooot!

All the Mexico players fell out with Sven, saying he was clueless and that he lost the dressing room. His results were very poor and they were in danger of not qualifying. He made poor decisions in those Portugal games, especially in the 2004 one. Rooney went off injured and who does he bring on? Vassell. He had a choice of Vassell or Heskey and everyone could see the game was crying out for a Heskey but he brings on Vassell. Yes we were unlucky to lose on penalties, but all the pundits say we could and should have done better with the team he had. Who would I prefer? A manager who knows the Championship well, knows the leagues, the set ups, and the how to create a squad to get a team out of the league. All the best teams in the league havea manager like this, we dont. You are wrong again. He played CB with Bamba and Mee played LB. Fair enough. i was thinking of Cardiff away.
Karljohn Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 I just tried to explain the Bruma situation (has to play every game - allegedly) situation to my missus. She suggested we start him, then just sub him after 10 mins if he's looky shaky. We keep our end of the bargain and Vitor/Mee get 80 mins. Given that my missus knows sod all about football, I thought that was a surprisingly good idea... She got any tips on how to contain the threat of Shane Long and the pace of Kebe?!
One Arm Babba Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 oh my god Bruma? I hope he scores a hat-trick and vindicates his inclusion. I'm not happy. ... not happy at all duck!

darko2k7 Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 I saw Zsolt Lazcko put in a great show vs Cov at home in 2008, so he was also a good player was he? One performance means nothing, its consistency that counts especially at this stage of the season. You right one performance means nothing but surely that works both ways , one bad performance does not mean anything either.
