Forest Match Day Thread

Forest pressing us as soon as we get the ball might be the reason. I wish we'd do the same thing, instead of giving them loads of time and space.

Yeh exactly. We don't press them enough.

That's what I've been saying for ages though - teams will close us down, we've got to play at a higher tempo. That means movement off the ball has to be better, players need to learn to look up before they recieve the ball (Wellens is great at this but not many of our other players are).

This is something that can only happen if it's worked on in training. Norwich don't have better players than us but they have learned to play as a cohesive unit.

Surprised how quiet it is...maybe the TV isn't capturing it, or maybe all the fans are nervous. Dunno!

Sky turn the crowd noise down unless it's a 'massive Premier League game'.

Having said that, our end looks like it usually is at Coventry. A lot sitting down...

The Forest fans have gone very quiet, which has not gone unnoticed by the extremely vocal away supporters.

Paul Fletcher's there for the BBC and says we're loud and they're not so much. Doesn't seem too loud on the tv though, agree with you.

Right.......How to say this without sounding like I'm having a go at you all..........

By no means is he having a great game but I really do feel Yakubu is getting far too much stick. How can you call him a cvnt? Does that make you feel proud of yourself. He has been no worse than King or Kamara. I think you should grow up a tad and try supporting your team like I am doing. I feel we can win this and I really hope Yak scores to shut you moaning morons up.

Wow, don't think I achieved being none offensive then. Oh well.

Come on you Foxes! All of you!!!!

Also there's not to many in our team who like to put the foot in.. and thats another reason we seem to stand off and give so much space. Alot of our players could take a lesson from Ben Mee. Wellens used to be that man, getting stuck in, not scared to tackle but it seems he's under orders not to?, Sven's probably scared he'll get sent off.

Well if I hadn't been watching the game and was basing my analysis entirely on what was written on this thread, I'd come away believing we were struggling to string two passes together and were generally extremely lucky to be drawing at half time. It's been a game between two teams lacking in a bit of confidence, but I have to say we've generally looked more threatening. The disappointment for me has been midfield, namely King and Gallagher, as well as Yakubu who looks a bit ponderous. That aside, the defence looks better than it has so far and Naughton is showing why he's in the PFA Team of the Year, not to mention Kamara who looks hungry.

It's Col City fox that's called him a cvnt. Read his posts, you'll probably see a pattern.

I'm supporting the team fine, but pick your battles, Yak's been crap and has offered nothing today (first touch has been poor, work rate low, he's not making space, he's not dominating their centre backs, he's made hardly any aggressive runs). Kamara's been linking up play well and I've been watching King more today and he's been getting in some great positions.

Naughton and Mee have stood out for me. I really think this is for the taking, Wellens is getting a bit of space at times and I don't think they can keep this pressing game going on for another 45. We don't look in our stride just yet and with King getting forward and Gally looking a bit livelier towards the end of the first half I feel quite positive.
