Bruma And Yakubu

Right, I read this forum far more than I post and understand that if you don't post at least 17 topics daily then you are clearly not a real fan and you get shot down by a sea of hyperbole from the regulars but I feel moved to post. I apologise that I do not post regularly enough and hope that the wise old elders of this forum will allow me the honour of stating my own opinion on an opinion based forum such as this.

I have been on holiday for a week (it was jolly nice thank you very much) and returned late last night. The first thing I did (yes, even before I got my liquids out of my little plastic bag and put my dirty Y-Fronts in the wash) was watch the Watford highlights. First of all, what a game it looked! Secondly, well done lads. Though the result means little in terms of the season I will never not applaud or enjoy a good performance. As I watched Bruma's two screamers and saw Yakubu chase the 'keeper down and then coolly finish and then bang in the second I had two thoughts. Firstly I thought "Well done fellows, jolly nice goals and a bit of determination to boot! I like the cuts of your respective jibs." My second thought was this "If I go on to the forums tomorrow and I am faced with the following posts I may very well spit my tea over the screen and roll my eyes so heavily it will look like I have suddenly developed epilepsy":

Epilepsy inducing post 1:

My God Yakubu is like a lazeh get! If you take away his two goals he did nothing. And he's fat. Oh yeah and like he absoluteleh don't care about this club. He could sit on his arse and earn the same money he does now but he chooses to come and play football at a lower level every week. What a lazeh get!

Epilepsy inducing post 2:

Bruma's a mardeh, lezeh, goofeh get! I'll be the first to pay his buz fare home! Take away the two goals he scored and every other positive thing he did for us today and he was bloodeh useless! Bring on Waggey I say. He don't score but he runs about like a bloodeh wobbeh at a picnic and I like that. I don't care how good someone is but if they run about I like 'em.

And what happened ladies and gentlemen? Well, I think we all know don't we? I think we all know very well. My God what is wrong with some of the posters on here? Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Yakubu has 9 goals and over 5 assists in 18 games? That, my dears, is ****ing good. Yet every week we slag him off. Do people enjoy putting other people down? Does it make us feel better? I hate to say this but is it because he is not English? Or not white? He has a better scoring average than any City player for years and we still log on in a morning, and type bile about him.

And Bruma? Jesus the lad's 18 (or 19, not sure but just go with me please pedants I'm on roll). 18! Can you remember what you were like at 18? Perfect were you? Experienced? At the top of your field? When I was 18 I think my mum still dressed me, I wasn't sure what a lady's penis looked like and I believe (though don't quote me) that I still had some way to go before I was at the top of my game career wise? If he is not ready for the game it is Sven's fault and not his. I've seen posts on here genuinely saying people hate him! HATE HIM! Or they would like him shot? My dear lord it makes me embarrassed to be human never mind a Leicester fan. Of course we are all entitled to our opinions (as I am to mine) but the negativity is just so annoying. He has had some bad games but the team fell apart around him as well. He cannot be blamed solely for us not going up!

I for one would like to see both Yakubu and Bruma back next season. Well done both of you. If either of of read this forum (though why would you based on the incessant drivel in most topics {my wonderful, epic poems excluded obviously}) then know this: I would love you to stay and I am sure there are other City fans who would also. Though if you do not, good luck in the rest of your careers.

I could go on for hours but I shall refrain for my sake and yours. I am a simple man though mean you no harm. Like a child or one of them subnormals. I smile but there aint much going on upstairs. Or downstairs if we're honest. Sometimes i cry at nights. When the darkness comes and I'm all alone. Hold me. Somebody hold me. Sorry, not sure what happened there. Back to my masterpiece of a post.....

Basically, I would just like a little more positivity and I hope that when the season is over people will step back and say "You know what? I know I was a bit mardeh earlier on but Sven actually did an amazing job when you think about where we waz when he took over. And d'ya know what as well? We played some bloodeh good football along the way".

Come on, We can ****ing do it next season! We can storm this league. I'm so excited about next season. I have not been this excited about being a Leicester fan since Heskey and Collymore helped us put five past Sunderland. Come on you beauties!

Thank you all.

What you say is well-written, factually correct and comes across very well. You should be an author mate. However, I still maintain that I'm surprised that Sven introduced Jeff Bruma into the side when he did. This seemed to coincide with a dip in form which became difficult to turn around.

You're quite correct, he is 18, and too young to be thrust into the team at that crucial time in the season. Why Sven did this, only Sven will know. I happen to think Bruma will be good in the future. However, he was the wrong player, at the wrong time for us IMO. Sven took this gamble, fair play he's the manager, but it didnt pay off.

There... no shouting, no sarcasm, no abuse, no epileptic seizures..just my considered point of view

And Col, labelling your point of view 'considered' is extremely subjective when all you consider is your own opinion.

I agree upon the sentiments above...except for Col City ;)

That was a 'rise and bait' technique used by many a troll. You rose triumphantly and snatched at the hook. You were awaiting a similar response with such fervour that you failed to see the 'winkey face' I put at the end of my statement.

if your having epileptic fits so much - support another team and stop your god damn moaning. you couldnt do it on the field. if you did play the first topic would be how utterly shit you are!!

Col City raises a fair point. Wrong player (young, inexperienced), wrong time (during a good spell when it was not needed). It's also amusing how a lot of people jump on anyone even slightly criticising Sven.

its very clear to me that Sven got this wrong. And you are right about any form of criticism. Christ, its like Sven's their dad or summat!! hehehehehe :crylaugh:

I think his good points get lost now, I think many agree on the Bruma one though. He was here to replace Hobbs who was on the bench anyway. Should never have gone straight in.

As has been said 100's of times, many people have questioned his decisions and things he is doing without criticism. The ones who get picked up in it have usually gone over the top, as you did a bit IMO. You're one of the more sensible in the group though who isn't too bad, on occasions!!

That's high praise ha.

Gosh! I feel quite humbled actually. Can I now call you 'Babs' Babs?

Well tickle me pink. I seem to be a hit! You like me, you REALLY like me! Thank you. Thank you one and all. I may grace you with my presence more often.

I prefer "arsey Sven bummer".

hehe - No, I'm going to enter myself into the 'Babs' club, whether you like it or not

I agree with the original post, the Yaks goal return for a city striker hasn't been seen here since that one season from Dickov in 02/03.

With regards to Bruma, I think the guy has had alot of bad press. I noticed two points in the Watford game,

1) his fellow midfielders played him some real hospital balls, no chance to work with what he was given, either head backwards or lose the ball.

2) the crowd got really angry at him when he was fouled behind and got a free kick. Didn't blame the Watford player, but blamed Bruma! Madness.

I like Both players and would gladly have them back next season.
