SnKeZz Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 This has got to be our Centre Defence next season, they are the two best defenders we've got, well will have if we sign Vitor. Anyone heard how much Benfica want for him?.

Leicester_Loyal Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 Why would they loan him out this season then?. So he can play a bunch of games under one of the best managers in the world. He'll gain vital match day experience and also improve his own skills and defending qualities. This will push his price up even further, especially if he plays amazing in the games for us (which he did)
shen Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 8 million wasn't it? They see him as one for the future and don't want to sell. That was his minimum fee release clause. If anyone meets that, Benfica HAVE to accept the bid, but this doesn't mean they won't accept lower bids. So he can play a bunch of games under one of the best managers in the world. He'll gain vital match day experience and also improve his own skills and defending qualities. This will push his price up even further, especially if he plays amazing in the games for us (which he did) It was Sousa who brought him in on a season-long loan. I assume you don't mean him when you say "one of the best managers in the world"
Haydos Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 Ergh, please let's not start with this 'how much Benfica want for Vitor'. They valued him at £15m which is obviously ridiculous and I'm almost certain not a realistic figure. Apart from that we have nothing to go on apart from last year them stating they were reluctant to sell him. All other figures will be complete guesses (unless Bert can officially rule him out ) Back to the OP, Tunch might not be offered a new contract and Vitor probably won't be here soooooooooo.........
gavboc Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 a total of 16 appearences between both this season indicates the obvious they have fitness issues although vitor has a good goals to games ratio for a center half of 1 in 5 lets hope a season long loan can be arranged again and see if we can get 35 plus games from him. I hope Tunch can proove his fitness in the summer because we would be privledged to get 25-30 apps from him next term I feel.

Ozwin Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 He never looked particularly happy when he was here but I guess not speaking English will do that to you. Someone said he wanted to stay a while back IIRC so hopefully there's some truth in that as he was definately our best defender on his day.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 Tunchev and Vitor? Vitor was good and tunchev has hardly played for 2 years - why should this be our first choice pairing? Also as has been said he is highly valued by Benfica - and for those thinking he could come back on loan - why would benfica loan him to the same club twice? there's countless other teams and leagues that would happily take him
Guest Mee-9 Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 I heard that Benfica will be willing to send Vitor out on loan again to us.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Would be a contender for the most injury prone partnership in history.
MiniFox Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 We will probably get a new centre back anyway and we might not even get vitor back so to be honest I think it shouldn't be our central defence next season
hbkkids Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 John Terry and Carlos Puyol not sure if they are good enough for the mighty city?
