It annoys me when I open up a thread and it's just a link to someones blog. Can we not have a sticky just for blogs instead of people starting new threads all the time??

I think a wider discussion needs to be had regarding this topic.

For obvious reasons I have an interest in this subject.

I have gone the correct way about approaching, let's be frank, the advertisement of my blog. Now whether people don't like what I'm saying, or certain people don't like my contributions in general to FT, I've got permission to do so.

Now i appreciate that when other people see my threads that maybe they feel that they can post threads about their blogs or twitter or whatever, but there's got to be a way of going about this.

A sticky has been mentioned.

Perhaps a section for blogs and twitters?

I also feel that if you are generally not contributing and involving yourself in the forum, and all you are doing is spamming then fair dues - delete or ban.

I would be interested in an adult conversation about this. i appreciate that a minority of people may not be interested in certainly my blog for example, but I'd say there are fair amount who are.

The argument for not having a blog is that there's nothing on there that you can't put on here. That's not true. I have a tendency to write my opinions on lots of topics across FT, and I have a medium that I can sum it all up in one place, as opposed to making an epic thread/article on here. It has it's purposes for me.

So I would welcome a open discussion about this, before it gets to a point of real bugbear for everyone.

I can only speak for myself, but if someone posting a blog is a regular contributor I usually leave it alone. If it's someone he is only here to flog their own site then they are dealt with differently.

Anyway I think this is under discussion mod side, so there may be something come of it.

Hi

I would concur with the sentiments above. I think if a regular user of this site decides to write a blog about Leicester City then she or he should be allowed to post a quick link on here. Surely discussion and the exchange of ideas regarding our club is what this site is for? I agree also that this would probably be best dealt with by having a thread for blogs alone. I also agree that if someone does not use this site at all and suddenly uses it as a self promotion tool then the posts should be ignored.

Wowee, I agree with a lot today.

That is all.

Most appreciated. I don't think those that had indicated their annoyance are by any means a majority.

I look forward to the outcome. What with preseason and transfers about to kickoff, there'll be more than myself with bloggins to post etc. I don't want to get bundled in with those with flagrant disregard for forum etiquette.
