Bert Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Well It's not us that's in for Smithies. That's not to say we won't be though. That's as much as I know.
Rhysm Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Pelts is a quality player, you'd warm to him as he always puts in 110 per cent, and he's not too shabby either. Real solid right back, with attacking potential and in CM he gets stuck in, breaks up attacks and generally kicks owt that moves!! Fingers crossed you're not willing to pay a million quid for him though! I have been thinking we need this type of player for some time. Wonder if we are looking at him as a RB or CM
adhart Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 With smithies, he would be pointless signing as he wouldnt be number 1 so therefore we would either have weale as number 1 or another keeper aswell, Logan is just as good at league 1 so whos to say smithies would be any better at this level. They want over 1 million for him, save that, cash in on Logan and put a big bid in quality proven keeper and weale as number 2.
dave_the_fox Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Save the million and cash in on Logan? Then put a big bid in? Right, that means the big bid will be £1,000,001!!!
adhart Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Logan not as bad as you lot make out, young, proven at league one. Made some stupid mistakes but low on confidence and never really had a a chance, he looked a different player at bristol
The Doctor Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Logan not as bad as you lot make out, young, proven at league one. Made some stupid mistakes but low on confidence and never really had a a chance, he looked a different player at bristol he really was. his record for us, league & cup, reads: Played - 29 Won - 11 Drawn - 5 Lost - 13 Conceded - 50 Clean sheets - 5 bearing in mind 5 of those wins are in the cup, his league record is terrible. Played - 23 Won - 6 Drawn - 5 Lost - 12 Conceded - 40 Clean Sheets - 4
Liamlcfc1 Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_6993817,00.html Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark says it will cost in excess of £1million to sign any of the club's highly-rated youngsters.Goalkeeper Alex Smithies and the versatile Lee Peltier have been linked with Leicester City, while fellow Championship side Millwall are reportedly keeping tabs on striker Jordan Rhodes. However, after missing out on promotion from League One last season, Clark is determined to keep his squad intact ahead of another push for a place in the second tier. Clark says he is under no pressure to sell any of his players and has outlined what it would take to prise any key members of his squad from his grasp."Jordan Rhodes has just signed a new contract so there is no way we are letting him go," Clark told the Huddersfield Examiner. "I have had a conversation with one person, manager to assistant manager, with regards to one of the other two and nothing else. That's as far as it's gone. "You are talking seven-figure fees for each of the three of them, and not small seven-figure fees, but I have talked it through with the owner (Dean Hoyle) and the board and there is no pressure to sell. None at all. "We want to keep them and if they are ready to go again in League One then we will happily keep them all. "The only reason anyone will move on is if they let it be known they want to go, but I want to keep the squad as it is."
MikeyT Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 dont wish to be rude, pal... but you have some ugly buggers in your team.....
Callabinho Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Well It's not us that's in for Smithies. That's not to say we won't be though. That's as much as I know. To save opening a pointless thread and purely out of interest what are the chances of Sven offering Hargreaves a chance to train with Us? I think we could see his name crop up.
