Zingari Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 I did a bit as a kid along the canal but i can't actually remember catching anything And i've done a bit of sea fishing in the last few years in Tenerife etc , a few years ago I caught a 40 lb marlin ( i think that's what the skipper said it was , it was just a foookin big nasty looking fish to me and after we landed it I didn't get too close )

Zingari Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Fantastic ......sea fishing really appeals actually !!!! I've done some beach and pier fishing on holidays as well , but with only very limited success , a few wrasse , mackerel etc but nothing very exiting I certainly preferred it to coarse fishing though , but beach casting is quite difficult though if you don't understand tides etc and you can lose a lot of stuff in seaweed and tangles , but if you've got the patience to learn it properly i'd say it would be a great pastime/ sport

Christoph Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Yes, went night fishing, smoked too much weed and ended up just falling asleep waiting for a bite. I can imagine it being fun once you get a catch but its too much patience and sitting around for my liking, would be good to do some robson green extreme fishing though.
Zingari Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 i think Cambridgefox is well up on fishing . i'm fairly sure he's said on here that he's caught quite a few impressive looking river monsters and hopefully he'll chip in and be able to give a few good tips
Unit Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Always fancied it in a weird way, grab a few tinnies and bang a few J's and just chill.... is it actually like that or do you have to be good? Also, where near leicester is there? (I don't drive)

Guest Mee-9 Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 It's gotta be Sea fishing, River fishing or Coarse fishing isn't as good. Sea fishings alot more exciting. Every year I go on holiday, spend at least a few hours fishing every day. Catch Bass and stuff. It's good.
Jay Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 unless Robson Greene is involved I find it very very boring
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 To paraphrase Mark Twain, it's a good sit by the river spoiled.

cambridgefox Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 To paraphrase Mark Twain, it's a good sit by the river spoiled. Your trout of order! As Zingari posted,i do a bit of fishing, but last week caught fook all.so would probably agree.Never used to like it,but now like the peace and go with a mate,so have a good chat loads of burners and loads of mouthwash before i get home!
cambridgefox Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 I was just wondering........? As Zingari said i do a little, prefer pike fishing in the winter months to be honest. There is a thread"fishing" last posted in general chat 17th june.Page 2 is my 7year olds first ever fish, think it was 18.6lb.
AoWW Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Went once. Was boring. Aww, I'm sure you're not that bad.
cambridgefox Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Went once. Was boring. i can understand that,it is a waiting game, but believe it or not there is skill in it,of which i havent got.my mate goes match fishing and can pull out 50lb of carp out in a morning.i go pike fishing with a mate and he has 2 licences so we have 6 rods out with different rigs and baits,we get 5 or 6 decent pike in four hours at least, just find out what bait rig catches on the day and alter.........are you bored yet?(i am and i like fishing)
