Sven is building a squad

I think it's fair to say that Sven is building a squad and not just a very good first 11. With the recent introduction of SSL and MM the CB position looks pretty safe to me, however, it would seem that either Mee or Vitor are incoming or indeed even both? Last season, we played Bruma, Mee, Vitor, Hobbs, Moreno, Bamba, Morrison and even Tunchev at CB at some point resulting in a record number of CB partnerships, and as a result were left with unfamiliar pairs of CB playing alongside one and other, all

of the above are good CB players, however they were all made to look stupid at some point, I recall Millwall away and Forest away as two examples. This summer Sven has also brought in Neil Danns and may possibly be introducing

Owen Hargreaves to the squad over in Sweeden. All of this as a result leaves competition for places which is often a healthy thing; however, I worry that Sven will see the likes of Vitor or Mee in training and be too tempted to leave them out of the first 11 for the next game thus replacing the previous CB partnership pairing and resulting in a repeat of last years inconsistency and ever chsnginging line ups. The same may occour in midfield, I just worry that too much competition for places can actually have a negative effect as we saw last year. To conclude, this is all about 'ifs' and 'buts' however it does concern me.

Oh just from what people say over on the transfer section of this forum, I used to have a great source at the club but no longer. All of what I've said is speculation based on twitter news and this forum.

I think that is Svens job, to look at his squad and decide who he feels is best for the upcoming game. We have no idea what his thinking is... he may pick Mee because sven thinks we need a bigger man or younger head against a particular opponent.

Yes there were some experiments last season...and i expect some decisions that wont make sense to us... but, (as boring as it is getting) "in Sven i trust"

I just worrythat constant tampering with the team is negative. Also, there were times last season when Sven changed things in a winning team which to me is pretty crazy but I take your point

I think the main thing that I've noticed from Sven is all the defenders that we have currently are all capable of scoring goals. From mainly from set pieces, and Masilela and Peltier to a lesser degree.

This will scare the bejeebus out of any team that we come up against. If we get better delivery from crosses and corners then we may well achieve a better goal ratio this season. As last year was abysmal from this area considered how many corners we had.

There's no doubt the team has the potential now to score from all areas, now we just need a striker with a great finishing and there's going to be fair amount of teams camped out on their in their box.

The squad he has built is capable of achieving what is widely expected. However, we do need another two strikers maybe.
