Jakemoore Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Lloyd Dyer insists he has no desire to leave Leicester City. The popular winger has been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium. Lloyd Dyer But he does not even entertain the thought of leaving a club he insists he has fallen in love with. Dyer has been strongly linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday in recent weeks, but he says he has heard nothing from Wednesday, and neither would he welcome any approaches. Dyer admits he may not have played as much as he would have liked under Sven-Goran Eriksson since the City boss arrived last October. But he is backing his own ability to cement a place in Eriksson's side as they begin what Dyer believes will be a memorable season. "I am aware I have been linked with other clubs but, as far as I am concerned, I am a Leicester player and I love it here," said Dyer. "I don't want to go anywhere. This is my club. I can't see why I would go anywhere else, especially when there are exciting times ahead. "I have had no contact from Sheffield Wednesday and I wouldn't entertain that either. No-one has approached me. "I love this club and everyone in my family loves this club. My young son loves this club. "Everyone at the club is good to me and the fans are great to me. I don't want to go anywhere." He added: "There is more competition for places now but I see that as a greater chance that we can go up. There are some exciting times ahead. "This will probably sound a bit weird but last season was probably the first time I have played for a club and felt really proud to play for a club. I love to play for this club, I love it. I am proper proud to play for Leicester. "I didn't like the speculation. I don't want to go. No-one has approached me or my agent." Dyer, who signed a new four-year contract last season to commit himself to the club, said he feels City are on the verge of achieving something historic. "I 100 per-cent believe we are heading towards something special," he said.
Kilworthfox Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Fair play, on his day he is great If I was him, I would not want to drop a division either. If he wants to stay then let him fight it out with our current players & future signings

General Smuts Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Good to hear. I'd much rather have Dyer fighting for a place he desperately wants in the first team than someone like Beckham rocking up on loan for his paycheck.

gazfox9 Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Fair play to the lad. Thats the attitude I like from squad players, compared to Hobbs who sulked and wanted away. Good luck to Lloyd, hope he manages to find some brilliant form this season and gets some game time.

Mack Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 If he could resolve his issues in the final 3rd of the pitch he would be a premier league player.
