AoWW Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 I was driving back from the game on Saturday (would have been between about 8.00-8.30pm) down the A6 between Market Harborough and Rothwell and I spotted (in the distance, westwards towards Braybrooke, maybe further) 3 paragliders (fairly sure they were paragliders and not parachutes), although one of them at least looked as if it might have been motorised. Now I wouldn't have imagined there was anywhere in the area suitable for paragliding - which maybe adds credence to the motorised theory? Does anyone know where they might have come from? I used to love paragliding but there are very limited opportunities in this part of the UK... so would be interested to find out about where these guys might be based. Any ideas...?

Definitely the canopy was similar and, although there were in the distance the harness looked different to a standard paraglider but more like these. Long way from Cov and Dunstable though - will have to see if I can find out what kinda range they have, but seems unlikely they'd have come from there.

You can just buy those ones and you dont have to have any special training,i bumped into a guy who went to Sutton microlight club(cambs)who had one, and im sure he said they were just over £4000.i wouldnt dare go up on one without training though. He might have just been spinning a yarn for me as i kept asking him questions!

However since there has been planning permission has been granted for 11 wind turbines on (Construction due to start in the comming months), and around their land, they have since been looking for new land to reopen their group.
