Rincewind Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 I wanted to remove content. After doing so I had a message saying its too big. That does not make sense. How can removing stuff make it bigger? I am trying to remove the out of the vaults line. It has happened before the last time I was on. I tried to shorten it but was unable to do so.
StanSP Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 There's probably still too much there? If you tried to remove everything, then I have no idea how that happened!
Rincewind Posted 15 August 2011 Author Posted 15 August 2011 But what I have now has been accepted. Last time I tried I tried to remove a lot more. Only thing I can think of is the limit has changed since I did the original sig. But there are some sigs with big pictures. I was also going to change my avatar but the pic I wanted is too large. Took it with my phone, transferred it to my PC and it fills the screen. Printed it off and it took six A4's. Too large for an avatar I suspect. Just thinking would iI lose anything if I copied it into something like wordpad then just added it back a bit at a time. There are parts of the sig I would like to keep parts secondary choice and parts that are out of date. Just wondered how it affected the codes by transferring them back and forth.
Haydos Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Has the limit on size decreased since you made your original? If it has then you won't be able to change it unless you meet the new requirements. I think.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Has the limit on size decreased since you made your original? If it has then you won't be able to change it unless you meet the new requirements. I think. I would say this. So delete everything and start again from a blank canvas. Cut your original sig and paste it into a wordpad file or something and then add bits back in and any new stuff. It's a pain, but I'd guess it's the only way.
Rincewind Posted 15 August 2011 Author Posted 15 August 2011 Thanks thats what I was asking if I could do. What gets me is I remove data and even the gaps between each item so its all compressed so I remove quite a a few lines in total. But It reverts back to the original which makes the sig bigger. By removing stuff it should be smaller and more acceptable.
Rincewind Posted 15 August 2011 Author Posted 15 August 2011 You are only allowed one image and 4 lines of text. I have had more than that for ages and only found out the limit when I wanted to reduce it. Still its a little better even though its missing some vital links.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 I'm annoyed that the maximum image size is 500 X 200
Finnegan Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 I'm annoyed that the maximum image size is 500 X 200 Given most of your sigs, I'm glad it is.
Rincewind Posted 17 August 2011 Author Posted 17 August 2011 The limit must have changed because I was well over. When I tried to save changes all the PC knew was after the change my sig would be too long so I could not change it even if it meant it being too long. I was reducing the size gradually and wanted to replace out of date lines but I would not have removed the amount I did to solve the problem. I wanted to keep the woman with the rolling pin for eg.
Finnegan Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 The limit has changed, yes. You can have an image 500x200 and a few lines of text.
