I couldn't answer him honestly. If anyone could enlighten me to which players had other options I can then answer his questions.

Mills had two options - Sign for Leicester or stay at Reading. We signed Roger Johnson for the same money so everybody was happy!

If Johnson cost £7m he would be our record signing. He wasn't. We got him for £4.5m all up front because Blues desperately needed the money and we have cash in the bank. Mills' fee will rise to £5.5m too. You still made a bid tho, so he could have held out for a move to wolves..... Yeah you're right. Reading were never going to accept £3m for him though.
