m00nie Posted 5 September 2011 Posted 5 September 2011 one window closes and another opens anyway so its all a bit of a joke anyway..
Jimmy Posted 5 September 2011 Posted 5 September 2011 So how come the window's applied throughout Europe? Murdoch's not that powerful.. the F.A. caved to pressure from FIFA and UEFA to bring us into line with them from our old system
wellyfox Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 He just wants it opened to he can spend all of our money on Maynard. Maynards price has halved since the window shut. And it is only having deadlines that push up prices. With the deadline it;s a race to get who you want that means clubs hold out a few days you then panic and offer more.
Toffee_Fox Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 So I take it the "request to join Arsenal" was a ploy by the club to save face? Yes, watch his videos, read his interviews. Clear he didn't want to leave.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 Introducing a transfer window, was a ridiculous backward step, that has achieved nothing
Toffee_Fox Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 It adds something, the season would be very dull otherwise. Could you imagine a full season of Chelsea wanting Modric, a full season of Harry Redknapp moaning, Wenger bidding stupid prices for people he wants and so on?
boring_jester Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 Did Beckford only go for 2.5 mil I thought it was 4.5
acooling08 Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 Introducing a transfer window was a ridiculous backward step that has achieved nothing. Fixed
ajthefox Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 It adds something, the season would be very dull otherwise. Could you imagine a full season of Chelsea wanting Modric, a full season of Harry Redknapp moaning, Wenger bidding stupid prices for people he wants and so on? It's wouldn't and never really was like that because the window is what brings on such behaviour because the clubs have a deadline. It should never really have been changed in the first place in my opinion. Did Beckford only go for 2.5 mil I thought it was 4.5 2.5 upfront, possibly rising to 4 I think. Rumours of us paying 4 or 4.5 up front are rubbish.
themotivator Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 Did Beckford only go for 2.5 mil I thought it was 4.5 Beckford cost 2.5mil i seem to remember when it was first reported by us or the mercury or something that it was less than £3mil. Then loads of reports came in saying it was 4-4.5 obviously the fee could rise if clauses come into effect.
Kitchandro Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 No, keep it. It'll be good to concentrate solely on the football for a few months. Agreed. I also wouldn't like the idea of our best players being able to leave at any time. Managers have enough time to get their squads together in the 2 windows.
