Fox in a Box Posted 22 June 2005 Posted 22 June 2005 Whilst on my hollibobs last week I kept abreast of all the footy I needed to digest through my webphone (handy I'll tell you). I thought how poor the OS site was at present. Theyd load you with info on buying your season ticket telling you time was running out (macey?). What am I getting at here, er well we are all the same we like to have have bite size chunks of info on the players, team, stadium situ, fans, manager, new kits etc...... all we seem to be getting is Fox betting for Wimbledon or somethig that is completely irelevant to FOOTBALL. What does everyone else think? What would you like to see less of........ and what would you like to see more of on the OS site. This site seems to stimulate the fans more than the OS at the mo... I'd like to see more profile information on our new players etc. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER CITY 'OS' and stop selling us down the stream with crap info
Shum Posted 22 June 2005 Posted 22 June 2005 It will continue to be a poor site as long as it is run by PTV. With PTV all the sites look the same and are just boring. I'm not even sure how the PTV deal works... does anyone know? The clubs who do not use PTV have much better sites, but obviously there would be more cost invlolved for the club.
Fox in a Box Posted 22 June 2005 Author Posted 22 June 2005 PTV (the guys who maintain it) I guess they dont care and feed exactly the same to all clubs under there umbrella. http://www.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Home/0,,10822,00.html Check out who they do websites for. We are losing our Unique identity. Surely it would be more profitable to involve fans im bemused. Nice day thou today... B)

If we jion forces with Tigerrs surely the time to rebrand our site is then.
Simon Posted 22 June 2005 Posted 22 June 2005 The OS site is a joke, I come here now to check on any LCFC news first...
supedaj Posted 22 June 2005 Posted 22 June 2005 indeed - i just use this site and newsnow nowadays no point in looking at official site IMO
Guest Posted 22 June 2005 Posted 22 June 2005 I'm still waiting for ticket details for the Celtic game.
Fox in a Box Posted 22 June 2005 Author Posted 22 June 2005 The Club should really look at the forums I think and really gauge what we think. Do you think they do? and check out are names and are we marked fans? But really the site is a joke. The Club was saved by fans yet I think they dont really have a clue of what we really want. I think we should put questions together about improvements for fans , the website, the kit, the staduim . FOXES TRUST you have your foot in the door now do your JOB please. grrrrrr

The problem is the deal signed with PTV runs for many years & is very expensive to get out of - blame the pre-administration owners for this one. The club have seriously looked at how to get out of the deal, but the cost to get out of the contract would blow a big hole in the budget & therefore isn't an option. Having said that other PTV sites have had a story about how the fixture lists are created - ours hasn't, so it's not just the technology. Given the lack of stories over the last week, we suspect somebody is on a beach somewhere at present

I have the technology in my pDA to update a website that not an excuse, if they on holiday then someone should be on standby. I'm a creative and deal with some website of a high quality.... we have been sold down the river by PTV things they charge for a done automatically. Jave or PHP coding!!!! if you look at wolves, derby, burnley, cov etc they only send a word file to a destination with a pic thats all. Very cheap!!! They must be on a update payment senario, if you pay more, you get more.... The site needs more improvements (i have notified them of mistakes in the past) Ive just check out the OS site LOOK http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~676575,00.html TD must be looking at the forum you know.. Tim yoour shoes are undone!!!

Clubs would get money for every single hit on the site. The trouble was PTV geared all their products to the post Euro 96 'footy' fan and a lot of Clubs fans got peeved with the quality of information on the OS's. When the ITV Digital deal went belly-up so did most of the funding into the PTV websites and the standards dropped even more. Collectively every football Club except Coventry and another got taken in and utimately stitched up, although CCFC now deal with PTV.
Anish Posted 22 June 2005 Posted 22 June 2005 The OS is utter garbage, a complete waste of space. Sack Jon Sanders I say, why do we even need him if PTV is running the show?
Newcastle_Fox Posted 22 June 2005 Posted 22 June 2005 The OS is absolute toss! The only reason I look at it is to confirm rumours that we have signed players. I dont want to be bombarded with Foxes betting etc. All I want is news about the club and not generic news frequently!

If PTV are not fulfilling their end of the bargain surely we can pull the plug?

davieG Posted 22 June 2005 Posted 22 June 2005 What the hell are you all on about, the official site is always bang up to date and first with the news, it's innovate appoach to delivering on the spot news about Leicester City and other services, which you the fans have asked for is second to none. So if its not providing a satisfactory service to you don't blame Leicester city football Club and most certainly not Jon Sanders, its your own fault as you must have a substandard browser. Well that's what they told me and the other moaning selfish bastards that had the audacity to question the quality and promptness of the site.
Katy Posted 22 June 2005 Posted 22 June 2005 Its bloody awful. it looks awful, its slow, nobody ever ansers emails. I mean I could go on..............

Katy Posted 23 June 2005 Posted 23 June 2005 First for the fixture list? The BBC beat them! 126441[/snapback] They sent the first 10 fixtures to my phone at 9.54 so I dont know where that fits in the scheme of things.

I have been creating website for over 12 yes 12 years. The site is utter rubbish and has been based on a generic football club business model theat PTV have exploited. foxes betting wolves betting rams betting and so on. one person feeds specific club info with a selected picture of there chioce for the story eh ho website is updated instantly. Look at spurs /southampton they have there own sites that are alot better and more focussed.
