SuperScout Posted 22 September 2011 Author Posted 22 September 2011 I just find it amazing how he finds players and turns them into World Class players.. Fabregas, Henry etc Same here, but what good is it turning players into world beaters, selling them on and winning nothing.
BrummieFOX Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 You ask any Arsenal fan if they'd have preferred to either make a continuous profit over the last five years and win nothing? or make a slight loss over the last five years, but win every major piece of silverware? I think the answer 9 times out of 10 would be the latter. ...and constantly finish in the top 4 resulting in a Champions League campaign of which they got to the final, at the same time as moving into one of the most impressive new stadiums in world football. Also, slight loss? Haha. Another thing, Arsene Wenger is 100x the manager Harry ****ing Redknapp is!! Yet if you read the toss the media chuck out, Redknapp is a world beater. Redknapp's transfer record at Spurs is pretty poor. Levy bought Modric, Van der Vaart and pretty much any successful Spirs player in recent years. Redknapp spent millions on Keane, Defoe and Crouch.
Guest MattP Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 He is a victim of his own success. They have had no right to win anything on what they have spent in the last ten years. It was just his absolute genius that managed to win them a few trophys. Says it all when Redknapp has a net outlay of 250million and it lauded as a genius for finishing 5th while Wenger has spent 10% of that as his job is under threat for finishing 4th. He could walked out to Real Madrid at any point over a 5 year period in the early 2000's, I hope Arsenal show him the same loyalty back now.
Corky Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 I do agree that Redknapp is nowhere near Wenger's standard.
Fox92 Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Same here, but what good is it turning players into world beaters, selling them on and winning nothing. I know, but I think thats beyong his control at times. Such as with Fabregas and Nasri, they wanted to leave because Arsenal are not winning anything. Also, he has that cap or something when a player turns over 30 years of age etc
accessory Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 2 observations: 1) Whatever Wenger's shortcomings, he deserves a lot better than cheap racial abuse. 2) Arsenal are NOT free of debt and won't be until their stadium is paid for.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Same here, but what good is it turning players into world beaters, selling them on and winning nothing. I think it would be very naive to think that is Wegners choice.
