Dell13 Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Hey, probably going to get a load of stick for this. I back sven all the way, but i'm starting to think that we miss managers who work well on low budgets? I mean NP, yes, things didn't work out for him here and left in award circumstances but he worked really well on a low budget and bringing in youngsters who enhanced the team and was always building for the future? *Cue abuse*
irDeano Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 So you'd rather go back to the days of Craig Levein and Rob Kelly?
Dell13 Posted 22 September 2011 Author Posted 22 September 2011 No, they brought in shit people. people like pearson spot quality.
Guest Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 He said work well on a tight budget. Levein and Kelly clearly don't qualify...
beemeroo Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 No, they brought in shit people. people like pearson spot quality. Hence why we're currently playing in the Premier League with NP at the helm? Behave.
Guest MattP Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Of course you would want someone who could do same on a small budget, what business in the world would choose different? Hence why we're currently playing in the Premier League with NP at the helm? Behave. Exactly, this season in the premiership has been brilliant.
SuperScout Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Sven has done a good job so far and I think he will take us back up this season, being honest due to his age and his mistakes in his previous jobs, I never wanted him and he wouldn't have been the first or second person I'd have approached, had I been the Raksriaksorns and Mandaric. As for Nigel Pearson, I think he did an extraordinary job here, unfortunately he was working under one of the most idiotic Chairmen around, who invested very little and expected too much back in return, had we beat Cardiff in that semi-final and then Blackpool, I think he'd still be with us, few could have done a better job than what Pearson did, things DID work out for him here, most other Chairmen would not have allowed him to go. As for a Manager who can work miracles on a low budget, look no further than the man below this post!
somebum Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Pearson was a quality manager undone by a dodgy brown paper envelope dagger in the back campaign between Sven and Mandaric. What Pearson had as an ability which Sven will never have is the ability to motivate his players.
davieG Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 I'd prefer not to change managers and to stop talking / writing about changing managers.
Babylon Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 So Svens masterplan included stabbing Pearson in the back, having Sousa appointed and sacked just so he could get the job? Another quality post brought to you by somebum

Another quality post brought to you by somebum No the masterplan was stab Nige in the back and bring in sexy Paulo with his CL medals so he could whore off the club to a group of far eastern businessmen. He really is a vile man.
SuperScout Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 I'd prefer not to change managers and to stop talking / writing about changing managers. He's gonna go one day mate, nothing lasts forever.
Guest MattP Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 He's gonna go one day mate, nothing lasts forever. He will go at the end of the season whatever happens, pretty sure his next job is already being/been lined up. If he was staying here a contract extension would of been signed by now.

Bugg Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 So the real question was "Does everyone want Pearson back" He left 2 years ago, and isn't really pulling up trees at Hull with a considerably large budget. I wish we'd get over it.

blueredswed Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 I think Sven´s out and take in a lowbudget ..... here we goes league 2 NOOOO SVEN is the man wait until May and judge him christmas is to near with our squad! Our best time is after christmas :scarf:
Bugg Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 ? I don't think we in any position to criticise at the minute while he is in charge of a team higher than us despite having probably 5% of our resources? That wasn't my point, in fact, I don't even see why we have to bring Leicester into this. I was trying to point out that after leaving us, he's been given quite a high spending budget (£1.5million on Fryatt, £2million on Aaron Mclean, £1.5million on Hobbs, £1-2 million on Jay Simpson and a few others I can't remember) and inherited quite a strong squad that he's not exactly doing that well. For someone who is supposed to be the world's greatest motivator they haven't really done that much.
B52 Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 ? I don't think we in any position to criticise at the minute while he is in charge of a team higher than us despite having probably 5% of our resources? If we look at the players.. Have Pearson only invested 0.7 mill on new players?

If he was staying here a contract extension would of been signed by now. Nah, the Thai's aren't daft, they'll wait to see if we're promoted first before they offer him a new deal, if he gets us back up they'll offer him another year or 2, whether he signs another deal or not, I think this will be his last managerial job, he is 63 now, if he isn't around next season people know the only man I'll be crying out for to take us in Premiership.
Corky Posted 22 September 2011 Posted 22 September 2011 Not really. I want to focus on what we've currently got and see how we do.

I think he already has his deal done, leaves us in the summer if we go or not, euro 2012 finishes and he walks into a recently opened top International post again. I think that's the reason he signed here until the end of this season and not longer. I would be astonished if he was our manager next season.
