Gutted, no justice when he dies and that bastard Clay still lives.

Stay classy..

I dont regret that one bit, I spoke to to Joe in Doncaster about 6 months ago and don't believe everything you read, he still hadn't forgiven the racist bastard and was glad he was suffering.

Yeah I said "I still love what you did to Clay" he smiled replied "so do I, look at him now, proves i won those fights"

Though if you speak to most boxing journalists (Dan Rafael and Al Bernstein I've spoke to)they all say the same thing that it depends what mood you caught him in, some days he would say all is forgiven and they are ok now and some days he would openly take pleasure from his situation.

I know Larry Holmes had stepped in to help him financially, didn't know Ali did, I doubt he would of taken that, done have told me Mayweather has helped him ourmt a few times as well.

He was a great man Joe, he had time for anyone and never stopped smiling. Considering the abuse Ali gave him he conducted himself with incredible dignity.

One of my heroes has gone today, I'm gonna sit down tonight with a couple of beers, watch the fight of the century and shed a few tears.

I hope you had the volume turned up when you did so. It's quite obvious where the crowd's sympathies lay.

Ali wasn't just the most charismatic boxer who ever lived, but probably the most charismatic performer in the history of sport. He is not only recognised, but revered, thoughout the world - even by many who have no interest in boxing. The same could not be said about Frazier.

His reactions yesterday suggested he didn't really see Frazier as an "Uncle Tom" figure. But given the antipathy of the establishment (both inside and outside boxing) towards Ali, it's not surprising that the passions, and the hype, became over-inflated on both sides.

But Frazier deserves to be respected and honoured as a great fighter in his own right. His passing is a reminder of the golden age that heavyweight boxing enjoyed in the 1970s. Ken Norton and George Foreman, along with Frazier and Ali, played a large part in that. All were light-years ahead of the Klitschko brothers who dominate that arena now.

The Klitschko Brothers would have been hard to beat in any era, not to mention on size alone (don't forget Ali only weighed in at 215, Frazier less) but thats another argument. I've had the pleasure of watching them close up and the jab on Wladimir is as good, fast and hard as any punch I have ever witnessed live and I've seen Pacquiao's right hook, Lewis's uppercut and Roy Jones Jnr in his prime.

Charismatic, yes he was, did that give him the right to racially abuse and insult Frazier then? Did it give him the right to mock his intelligence and do impressions of him just because he didnt agree with Ali black militant political stance while Clay mixed with all those pimps, drug dealers and criminals from the NOI? I'm amazed to be honest someone who comes across as anti racist as you seems to want to openly condone it when its against someone you dont seem to like.

I had the volume up alright, the cheers when Ali goes down are as loud as they were when he staggered Frazier in the first, Joe won the hearts of a lot of people that night, he wasnt bright, he couldnt talk, he didnt want to insult people, he had to win over people through fighting, he couldnt do it through an anti-war stance and public humiliation, it makes him no less of a man because he couldnt. Didnt view him as an Uncle Tom? He spent ten years giving him the most horrific racial abuse possible to give a black man (a man who had lived a far "blacker" upbringing than middle-class Clay when you read their histories as well) besides the N Word. You'll be sticking up for Big Ron soon.

RIP Joe.

Frazier alongside Mike Tyson was my all time favorite Heavyweight. His style was unique how he kept his dignity against the verbal bashing Ali gave him I don't understand. He was a complete powerhouse of a boxer.

Just watched the Thrila in Manila, Ali was a **** to Joe.

I watched that documentry too, just renforced what I thought about Joe Frazier. There was an interesting interview with Larry Holmes who said Ali was the most overated heavyweight in history. I tend to agree he was probably the most high profile alongside Mike Tyson but never the greatest.

Ha these days that fight would have been stopped when Ali went down and was on the ropes.

Looking at Ali on Wikipedia, he sounds like a right twat. About 10 kids from 5 different women. *Avoids stereotypical racist comment*
