stockyfox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 I am somewhat surprised that this thread has not been locked by the Moderators. There have been over 270 contributions and I would say that most people who wished to post a view have now done so. The thread, in essence, has little or no bearing on the merits or otherwise of Leicester City FC.. Whatever your views are re Alan Young, you can either listen or simply switch off. If you still feel you have valid comments, may I suggest you address them to BBC Radio Leicester, marked for the attention of Mr Alan Young. There's only one thing worse than being talked about - and that's NOT being talked about!

There's only one thing worse than being talked about - and that's NOT being talked about! So we're not aloud to praise Alan Young or disagree with him in this thread. Yes it's not been a clean thread and there's been a few under-hand posts but if he commentates well I'm sure they'll be praise and this thread is the place where it should go. Mods don't need to close it.
stockyfox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 So we're not aloud to praise Alan Young or disagree with him in this thread. What I said Narborough, has nothing to do with whether or not any further comments re Alan Young should or should not be allowed. I simply said that most folk who had an opinion or view had now posted it. I agree that it has not been a 'clean' thread and indeed, some of the posts have sailed very close to the wind as to warrant possibly inviting a charge of defamation of character. Furthermore, I doubt whether anyone has significantly changed their opinion as a direct result of reading what someone has posted. In short, I would say that this thread has now lost its impetous. If people wish to comment further on these boards, re Alan Young's contributions in discussing all matters Leicester City, then by all means do so, but let it be on a new thread with hopefully constructive praise or criticism without the need to resort to insuting offensive remarks.
davieG Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 If there is no interest in a particular topic it will die of it's own accord the best way for that to happen is to not post in it. Censorship is a fine line to tread and us mods do our best, certain posts in this topic have been unapproved/deleted as a result but this is obviously a forum that thrives on discussion and differing opinions so where possible we let things flow.
stivesfox Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 I didnt listen to the radio the other evening as was at the match saw Mr Young in his perch big grin on his face like us all, wondered what his reaction was to beckford scoring, especially after his recent hammerings of Mr Beckford, did Alan young find another scapegoat he could dig his claws into.
Mack Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 I didnt listen to the radio the other evening as was at the match saw Mr Young in his perch big grin on his face like us all, wondered what his reaction was to beckford scoring, especially after his recent hammerings of Mr Beckford, did Alan young find another scapegoat he could dig his claws into. I listened as usual on the way home and he said that he had given Beckford some stick lately but knew he had the ability to come good. There was no criticism of any players in particular, although some fans were still texting in to moan. For me Young has been better of late.
Zingari Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 I don’t care what anyone else thinks , but Alan Young is fookin great at what he does . It’s just like being at the game with your slightly loopy best mate and I hope we continue to keep him in the commentary box .
LCFC FOX Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Alan Young is good on the mic I think they just should just take it in turns and go every couple of weeks with Stringer make it more interesting. Like one week Alan Young , the next Bruno Berner , Muzzie Izzet , Squad player thats not in the squad that week ect. Alan Young just says some things that are completely wrong sometimes
