any suggestions would be helpful,thankyou

I've been following Leicester home and away since the age of 15 (8 years ago).

I used to use the supporters coaches up until I could drive however in the last 3 years now almost always use the trains meaning plenty of beers can be consumed.

You and your son will be fine in terms of safety.

Grounds - depends what you are looking for really. I myself prefer the older grounds rather than the new modern stadia, they tend to have more of an atmosphere around them.

Pretty much any London away game would be a decent place to start. Invariably decent grounds, easy to get to on the train and plenty to see and do before and after the game. All pretty safe as well, and that includes Millwall.

I love away games, prefer them to home games. Atmosphere is always much better. We travel by car, I have only used the Fox Travel once, and only use the train when it is required (to games in London).

Anfield is my favourite away ground, but seeing as we haven't been there since 2003/04 season, in recent times I have enjoyed trips to Middlesbrough and any London based team. Also, I'd like to mention Grimsby. Ever since we went there in 2002/03, I have developed a bit of a "soft spot" for them. I enjoyed that away game very much.

I don't think I have had many poor/unsafe away trips, however, I don't like Burnley, and Hull always seems a bit of a horrible place although the ground itself is pretty decent.

4 years following city away from home (from 16) Birmingham and London are great and idea for transport options (west brom wolves birmingham villa) but unfortunatly we've done most of them out of the fixtures we have left the choices are varied and going to three of the following i think would give you a taste of seperate away fans grounds and atmospheres

Peterborough- London road easy commute to drive or coach only 45 minutes away so no boring car journey. one main stand is all standing with no seats the atmosphere is always fantastic with this system and its always loud the only negatives if your worried about safety or not being able to see the game for crowding. Seated areas are available but lack the same atmosphere at this ground. Personally i love it ***** stars

Brighton- New to the league but you'll be familier with the distance if youve gone to blackpool or southampton portsmouth etc. Car journey is longer so be sure to plan for breaks and road closures etc. New stadium so the atmosphere is untested they seem to be getting good attendences and with it being all seater it will be safer and should have a medium atmosphere as long as the stewards arent like the gestapo. *** only 3 because as i've explained its a new ground and we've never been

And finally ... elland road dirty leeds united- Average in all areas average car journey time seated yet old and historic and lenient towards standing fans this will be a sell out i'm sure for three reasons 1) leeds FFS! 2) last game of the season 3) great atmosphere. This will be a big away game if we are hoping to secure the play offs here and i believe it will go to the last game of the season you will want to be here to soak up the day and it is always a tasty affair playing against leeds.

Well i hope this little review helps anyone who is interested in following leicester away it is a totally unique experience! :lei1: :lei1: :lei1: :lei1: :lei1: :lei1: :lei1: :lei1:

Leeds for £36/£38. No thanks.

I agree but in order to follow the team i love and support i have to pay those prices i usually offer lifts to fans to help with fuel money but that price is fast becoming the standard and not the exception.

for a nothing game i completely agree. if theres anything to play for though..

True. I will probably feel differently if that is the case as sick as that makes me feel inside.

Does foxes travel get sold out fairly quickly? usually are seats available for priority 3? also never been to an away game and hoping to do end that this season. thanks.

I've never had a problem getting fox travel with priority 3 tickets. You have to be there at least an hour before departure though if there are a few of you travelling, as getting seats together can be a real problem. If theres just a couple of you, it's not so bad. Seats cannot be reserved. People tend to get on the coach,,leave their bags and coats on seat/tables, and go over to the hotel for a cup of coffee. I was fairly lucky yesterday for the Palace game, ten of us travelled and could all sit fairly closely, but if i travel with mine and other peoples children its a hassle when they are dotted all over the coach!

if you use your own car can you park close to the ground?

Type in the Football Ground Guide on google mate.

Great little website that gives you a low down of every football league ground.

That website has saved my bacon more times then I'd care to admit. Exceptional website.

Love it you can bookmark it and have it on your smart phone too. If you want to try and park on normal roads near to the ground another note is single yellow lines ALWAYS look for signs to see if they are active or inactive this season at portsmouth i parked on ones with about 12 other cars around 11ish (got there early to have a tour) went into pompey came back around 14:30 just as they were about to tow my car away all the other cars were local and they knew that before the game they come and do a sweep and pick up any that are still there on the lines £150 on the spot so i'll never do that again :facepalm:
