Vardinhio Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 I thought both were brilliant today. Konchesky is far too good to be playing for us at the minute, he drives forward with the ball, tracks his man brilliantly and pops up with the odd shot far more often than some of our "midfielders". His attitude is first class and you can see how much he wants it. Dyer is too fast for the rest of our team. He could run all day and whilst he sometimes looks clumsy he worries the opposition unlike the tappy tappy Gallagher. I actuallly think the left side of our team is pretty strong and defensively also why Bamba/Tunch seem to look so much more composed than Mills, who invariably has to worry about a lightweight right wing ahead of him and whether or not he should be stepping up to face off the opposition. We could really do with more players like this, mobile players that are athletic and can move the ball. I do believe these players fit in to Pearson's plan, they have a purpose and have clear attributes and strengths.
Corky Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 What I like about Konchesky is his determination. He might not be playing well, but he doesn't hide, doesn't stand around blaming others, he tries to improve and still make an impact in the game. It's worked before- I've seen him have shocking first 45's and superb second's. He'll keep running and trying to support the attack. Good signing so far. Dyer is inconsistent but wholehearted.
Swalker Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Weren't outstanding. Konchesky was decent but by far not his best or worse of games. Dyer- apart from the goal he didn't really do too much but he was our most attacking and best outfield player. However, praise them? No thanks. Weren't outstanding but don't deserve stick. But their attitudes are good and show passion!
Adster Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 In B2, after the game whilst I was down near the touchline I saw three guys next to me shout 'Konchesky you're fvcking shit you cuntt!'. So I went over to him and told him to **** off, not standing for that when he's been one of our most consistent players this season. You could full well see Konch mutter 'fvck off' under his breathe and I don't blame him. Anyone else in B2 hear this? Was disgraceful.
Fox92 Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 I wouldn't say they were brilliant, just better than average.
lestajigs Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Yea well done to these two lads, oh and I think kasper deserves to be up there today, could off easily been 5 to Barnsley

Well done for saying something to these divs mate, no reason what so ever for anyone to get on his back today!! The other 7 though!!??
Vardinhio Posted 14 January 2012 Author Posted 14 January 2012 At our level the best players can nearly always be defined by a clear strength, it doesn't mean they are world beaters but it means they have a purpose. Konchesky = Tenacity Kebe - Skill Dyer - Pace Koren - Creativity We have far too many players that are non-descript and have no "special" ability. Players like Wellens, Gallagher....it is sometimes like having a team on Football Manager where they have average attributes across the board. Nigel needs to empty this bank of generalists and get players with core strengths so we can utilise them.
dog_4 Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 dyers crossing was better! right areas, but no one running onto them!
Rich Fox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Jesus you must be easily pleased. Konchesky can hardly pass the ball almost painfull to watch.
Vardinhio Posted 14 January 2012 Author Posted 14 January 2012 You must be joking Rich Fox? I honestly thought he was brilliant today and has been consistent all season.
