wellyfox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 In todays sun Swansea 3 Arsenal 2 The Swansea team cost 5.3m and they beat Arsenal. Matt Mills reputed 5.5m and we can't beat Barnsley. This ain't just the fact we have an imbalanced squad. Something is drastically wrong the mind set and attitude is dire. NP blames the fans for having a bad attitude well he needs to sort the players out. Blaming the fans won't cure anything. NP forget your loyalties to players sort out the attitudes and ego's. Get rid of these bad eggs or drop them. Then NP I think you will find the fans back you and the team. I would rather watch a team that's trying to play and looking to get fwd to score and win. Even if they loose but show effort you will get backing. Also NP stop chasing a striker and sort the whole midfield. That's the one area we all agree needs sorting. No Wingers Poor Play Maker and Poor ball winners. Sort this Nige and you may get respect and backing
MrSpaM Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 He wasnt blaming the fans, he was implying that our squad thinks it's better than it actually is

LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 He didn't say anything about the fans Think you need to listen back to his interview my friend
weggy1976 Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 For the record........the midfield that NP has been playing are all HIS players.......Wellens, King, Dyer & Gallagher. Don't shout me down, but Tunchev was woeful on Saturday, the back 4 were all over the place, non communicative between them. NP makes his comments about getting others in, SHARP turns us down. I think NP needs to re-assess himself of his own expectations. Dressing room un-rest and players not wanting to play for NP maybe?
wellyfox Posted 16 January 2012 Author Posted 16 January 2012 Delusions of Grandeur Was not about the fans then?
EnderbyFox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 I blame Heskey Don't be silly. Its all Wellens' fault!
Burbage Fox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Also NP stop chasing a striker and sort the whole midfield. That's the one area we all agree needs sorting. No Wingers Poor Play Maker and Poor ball winners. Sort this Nige and you may get respect and backing thats the main point, get some decent midfield players in and all will be well, the Beckford Nugent front 2 can work with the right service, its the dire midfield that is letting us down. The interview can be viewed in many ways depending on your point of view, I think personally he was saying that the fans have delusions of gradeur which i disagree with but I may be wrong. It is also not Matts Mills fault we payed 5m for him more Sven for agreeing to Readings stupid demands I bet they are laughing all the way to the bank
davieG Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 He didn't say anything about the fans Think you need to listen back to his interview my friend I've just re-listened and his immediate response to Stringer's question about the fans reactions was Maybe we've got some delusions of grandeur here and it needs addressing , there then is a good pause before he then starts on about things being wrong at the club. He may have meant internal to the club but it certainly not obvious especially as it wasn't an entirely appropriate response to Stringer's question.
Dave-Foxes Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Don't shout me down, but Tunchev was woeful on Saturday, the back 4 were all over the place, non communicative between them.
Dave-Foxes Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Tunchev didn't look comfortable Saturday, nearly every time a ball came in his direction he grabbed the Barnsley player, lucky not to have been spotted by the ref

For the record King was a product of our youth team and not a Pearson signing. For the record Dyer was signed to get us out of league one on a free transfer. For the record Tunchev was signed 3/4 or so years ago to get us out of league one, he has also been out injured for about 2/3 of those years. For the record Gallagher and Wellens were signed about 2/3 years ago just after we got promoted, when the aim was only to try and stay in this league and consolidate. For the record they all cost less than beckford combined. For the record Sven and Sousa tried to replace all of these players but kept picking them becase they signed nobody better. For the record Pearson has not yet been able to make one signing since his remit with us has changed to promotion. Take a pop at performaces, but be fair.
weggy1976 Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 For the record staying in this league just might be the aim for NP this season.....!

There were a few people in my area that were constantly screaming for free kicks for Gray holding Tunchev I thought what game are you lot watching?
smudgerfox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 If he did mean the fans have "delusions of grandeur" he wouldn't be far wrong. There are many many on these boards and others who seemed to believe that because we had rich owners, a famous (should that be notorious?) manager and a few big name signings, assumed we'd walk it to automatic promotion. This flies in the face of all experience in the Championship. Firstly this season was always going to be particularly tough as neither the teams that were promoted or the teams which got relegated looked particularly vulnerable from the start. There was barely a poor side (by Championship standards) in the division. Secondly - how many sides who have got promoted in recent years, had a big name manager and big name players? Thirdly, the "big name players." Nugent - an international maybe, Premiership experience certainly - but still just an average-ish scorer in the Championship. Bamba - classy on the ball certainly, but prone to errors of judgement such as his recent failure to step up for an offside. Mills - one of the best defenders in the Championship last season but certainly found out with his positional play and distribution, this season. I could go on. Now all we hear is that every player and the manager are all too crap and need getting rid of - without any word about how the replacements would be found. I give you Hobbs. Weale and Waghorn - all perfectly decent Ch/ship players one season but a few months later, after our new owners took over - not remotely good enough for us..
MrSpaM Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Seriosuly the comment wasnt made about the fans, Pearson might be a lot of things but he's not a lunatic. Calling our fans out for getting on the players backs when we've only won 1 in 8 isnt something you do as a manager. He knows what the problems are, and it's definatly not the fans faults and he knows that. It's blatently obvious he thinks our squads as bad as all of us do. The priority has gone to purely staying up this season. Our squads simply not good enough to go up.

No Wingers Poor Play Maker and Poor ball winners. Sort this Nige and you may get respect and backing He wasn't blaming the fans, not sure where you got that from Swansea (& a few other clubs) seem to have a long term coherent policy of team-building, we're always 2mins away from signing the next big thing, the only policy seems to be 'get the player' aided by a manager who's whole career has been managed by the chequebook. NP's loyalty to players? wah? He's the one who's brought Moore, Kennedy & Taft into the matchday experience, pretty sure if there was midfielders or forwards of the same calibre of those they'd be included too, if you're referring to Wellens, King, Gally & others... there aren't any other viable options other than shuffling the deckchairs on the titanic.... for now Getting rid of bad eggs is all well & good, but we must be roughly the highest payers in the Football League, who's going to want to want out of form player on those kind of wages & the players themselves are hardly going to leave are they, it's a situation similar to what followed the Taylor years at the minute. Pretty sure they're working to fix what they can in January, but a) Players need to leave 1st else you just have the bad smell in the background, poisoning the atmosphere b) Our targets need to be better than those already here, so teams will need to replace them before letting them go, something which is difficult for them in Jan, which makes it difficult for us.
burni Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 just opened bbc sport, 'chelsea sign cahill for a fee believed to be around 7m. pretty sure we got mills's valuation a bit wrong.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 I blame Heskey For leaving in the first place or not coming back ?
