The Power of Positivity

Ok so booing seems to be the current choice, for some fans, of showing the players what they think of their performance. This ultimately creates an atmosphere of negativity around match day and the club as well as tarring all the players with the same brush.

If we were to continually cheer/chant the players who have consistently given it their all, which I will admit is a relatively short list i.e. Kasper, Bamba, Konchesky, Dyer, Peltier, Nugent. then maybe this would encourage some of the other players to put a shift in (which I agree they should be doing anyway). In many ways it would also single certain players out and make them do something about it themselves rather than giving them the excuse that the fans should get behind the team.

I just think that booing achieves nothing but pushing us further into the slump we find ourselves currently in.

I agree, but theres only so much crap you can watch.

The players, fans and NP know we need a performance tomorrow, or i fear the rot will really start to set in.

I'd like us to just have pride in ourselves first and foremost. I'm not going to believe that getting behind them will exactly spur them on to victory. But even if the team is shit there's nothing wrong with making some positive noise. For our enjoyment at least. This is Forest we're playing after all. I'm not going to let them have any excuse to start mouthing off inside or outside the ground (the latter generally being the place they mouth off)

I mean, lets not go out there with the intention of being negative.

There is positivity, being hopeful and denial.

If think if anyone thinks certain players are going to change in our current team they are the latter of the 3.

I stuck this on another website but I think it says it all........

“Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and of making yourself available to receive a pass. It is terribly simple.”

Maybe so, but at least the players who are playing well and seem to care about the club will be shown appreciation. If I was Kasper I personally would be thinking "I play well pretty much every game and still have to endure the flack from the fans towards the team..sod this".

Erm  don't we already chant his name?

Or is that not enough?

Yeah, I agree. We might have a shit team, but it doesn't mean we have to be shit fans.

We do but many fans at half time/ end of the match boo the place down. My suggestion is that we cheer the players we feel have done well. It then puts the emphasise back on the players who consistently look like they couldn't give a sh** where as booing the whole team just causes resentment between the players and fans.

Exactly, if anything this makes us more appealing as a club to potential signings. Who wants to come and play for a team whose fans cheer them when they are substituted? Doncaster has shown us what fan power can do.
