Ahh, the time Scholes landed a shot in the burger bar behind the goal as we beat them in the League Cup...the time a security guy standing in the Carling Stand as it was being built got hit in the nuts by a clearance. These things just don't happen at modern stadia...

Just thinking - if we don't win today that will be three calendar months during a season without a home league win. Would that be our worst run since leaving filbo?

Probably. :( Even when we were (really) shit we still managed to win the occasional home games - and back to back games in a season, something which has still yet to happen!

I know it's lies damn lies and statistics, but just unbelievable that this stat is entirely possible given the investment.

Trust me it is not representative of the worst period in our history - go and look up the name Frank Mclintock!

Eh? We got relegated from the top division? That's worse than administration, bottom half finishes in the Championship, awful football and relegation to league one for the first time ever?

Filbert Street is dead. Yes, I said it. Sue me.

It was built in a highly built up residential area with absolutley no chance of redevelopment, as with many other, now defunct, stadia around the UK. Highbury. Maine Road. The Dell. Even Highfield Road and Wembley Stadium. All with alot of history, but crumbling beyond repair. The saying "Being cruel to be kind" comes to mind alot here.

The death of the atmosphere of the Pens, terracing, etc - That's a whole new conversation that I could debate for days on end.

We have a fantastic facility in Filbert Way-Walkers-King Power-Freemans Wharf stadium, what ever it's called. Truth be told, we can make it a fortress. Atmosphere like Wembley with the feeling of "home". But as mentioned before: We need to make it that way. Not moan and pine over what has been demolished.

We can all remonise in the "glory days" of yesteryear. Time to look forward. Time to return to those days. Make our own history.
