Never change a winning team brigade

So after being blown out of the water for suggesting that we play our best players i.e. Bamba when they are available I was wondering if the "Never change a winning team" and the "Morgan and SSL must stay because we didn't concede" are true to their colours and will now ditch SSL in favour of Bamba?

Bring back Bamba !!!!

I think Bamba is by far our best central defender. Pace, power and creativity. I'd like to see Bamba and Morgan at the back, as together they would be a physically strong pairing, win headers, win tackles and be a threat moving the play forward from the back. I'd like to see Drinkwater in for Wellens to give us a bit of extra energy in the middle of the park. Drinkwater and Danns are chasers, tacklers and ball winners. I'd give Schlupp a go on the left wing, in the hope he would be better going forward than Marshall and better tracking back and providing some support to Tom Kennedy, to deal with Kebe. I'd move Dyer to the right wing, and let him cut in and get some shots on goal. And finally I'd replace Peltier with Pantsil in at the back to deal with the pace that McAnuff has on the left wing for Reading. Pelteir also needs a rest in my opinion.

I like your team. Peltier or Pantsil I like them both. I wouldn't mind Schlupp or hopper up front for Beckford but I guess we need to play him to the end of the season to see if we should keep or sell.

The big Bamba grin alone merits him returning to the squad - I've been missing it lately.

I'm not going to say who should make way for him though cause imo SSL & Morgan have both been pretty good (until the Bristol match) and I personally can't choose between them.

I'd keep Morgan and St Ledger at Centre backs. Bamba dosen't fill me with alot of confidence, look at Derby, I know he was out of position but he looked shit giving the ball away nearly every time he got it. Basics!

Depends on many factors

Changing players when those in the team have earned their spot is bad for morale, especially when they're gaining results.

After a bad defensive performance the other night it might be ideal time to bring someone back in.

Bamba is a great footballer, I'm still to see anything consistent which hints he's a great defender though & he's been an awful partner for about 10 players since he joined.

I think we should bring him in today, we've potentially only got 1 game of the season left next week against Chelsea & if Morgan/SSL defend like we did against BC we'll be in for a thrashing, however if they play like they did against Norwich I can't see a space for someone as eratic as Bamba

Some people really don't like Bamba and I don't understand it.

This erratic/makes a blunder line is rubbish. Every defender (every player) we have makes blunders and plays badly at times, the difference with Bamba is that he also plays brilliantly in every game and gives 100% effort which can be contagious.

St Ledger and Morgan is the best partneship in my opinion. Just because we conceded three, doesn't mean we have to bring dodgy Bamba back.

I can't recall a Bamba blunder costing us a single goal. Generally if he gives the ball away he recovers it. I think its the perception created by his less than fluid body movements and uneasy balance, that leads people to believe he is a liability.

again I agree 100%.

Well I wouldn't be surprised if all three of St Ledger, Bamba and Morgan play today. St Ledger at RB, with Morgan and Bamba in the centre. Pelts will be dropped today imo.

Bamba win headers?

The Bamba I've seen always brings the ball down not heading clear, often causing trouble in doing so.

I like the idea of Schlupp on the left but he must do what Dyer does & hug the touchline creating width, it's no good if him & Kennedy are both cutting in.

Marshall & Gally missing from the team means a lack of technical players, but I think on this occasion the pace of Schlupp & Dyer may be worth it.

Peltier has needed a rest for months, Pantsil doesn't fill me with confidence tho, shame Moore is injured.

The kind of changes you've mentioned may well work but they could just as easily lead to a 6-0 defeat.

Be good if three at the back works and then one of them gets injured/sent off - then we will have lent our other central defender to our rivals (who I will wager DO make the paly offs) OH Dear

For the record, I don't think Nigel will make too many changes for the game. He tends to stick to one change as a maximum, which in this case will probably be changing Peltier.

When he comes up againt big strikers though, he doesn't look so great.

I remember Darius Henderson basically giving him the run around, in fact Bamba conceded the penalty if I recall, against Millwall.

Personally I think it's his woeful positioning & the fact that Hobbs/Vitor/Bruma/Mills/SSL didn't/doesn't know where he's going to be from one second to the next that makes him eratic or a liability...

I agree with this.

Bamba has his uses but the problem is where to deploy him I still think he is a fine CB but he just needs someone commanding next to him someone like Morgan could get the best out of him as cliched as this sounds, I reckon a partnership with those two together could work, priority is getting Pelts dropped for the time being, so St Ledger to replace him.

Pelts also seems to be getting bad love from fans recently. I've only not seen the Bristol game over the last few weeks/months and I don't agree with the criticism. I certainly wouldn't replace him with SSL he offers nothing as a wing back. Pelts is good going forward and has a great throw which sets up a lot of dangerous situations.

If I was going to rest him then I'd bring in Pantsil who I liked a lot at the beginning of the season. another good player.

Best defensive run of the season came with Mills and Bamba at the back - put that in your pipe and smoke it

bring back mills!

He can be a liability. Can be caught out of position (decision making not always great and switches off at times) and doesn't seem to communicate at all times with the back four. Not saying he's shit or anything like that as I do like him. He's solid when he's in the zone and concentrating, when he's not he costs chances.

It's been hard to give up smoking AND Foxes Talk in the same week so I thought I'd post...

I wouldn't change a winning team myself. This season has been plagued by inconsistency. And how are we gonna get consistency by changing the first team every other week?

Up until Tues night, the centre back pairing hadn't put a foot wrong..

What would you do? Undo all the good work and knock their confidence by dropping one of them and bringing in a replacement?

I think the problem Nige has had is that he doesn't know his best team and he's still trying to find it. So he's giving players a run of at least a few games whilst he's looking at them properly.

That's what id do myself.

Bamba is a known quantity... It all depends whether Pearson thinks he's better than the current two?
