Grey Fox Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Too true, great night all round I remember our fans being awesome on the night, can't believe how young MON looks in that vt guess I'm just old now! aha ha Yeah he does look young. I videoed that game, and still have the video, I just don't have a working player! Shame, I would like to watch it all again. I remember Emerson getting through at one point, can't remember whether he missed or it was a good save by Keller? That's the point I started to believe it was going to be our night.
Grey Fox Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Here is the match at Wembley: That equaliser has to go down as one of my favourite goals, loved it! I remember walking around the outside of the ground after the match, all the borough fans had faces as if they had been beat, perhaps they knew what was coming? I like the Walsh interview after, when he says we never give up right til the end.... are you listening lads!

I like the Walsh interview after, when he says we never give up right til the end.... are you listening lads! It was ace that day, I had corporate tickets (free beer!) through work and we had the Middlesbrough prawn sandwich brigade behind us gloating after they scored, it was phukin brilliant rubbing there noses in it! Your'e right it was like a defeat for them!! Fantastic feeling. They were the gutted!
Grey Fox Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 I can't let this pass without paying tribute to Heskey's "we're hoping to, we're hoping to" line. That's up there with Keegan's "I'd love it, love it" line for me. I still use it myself to this day.
MattyFromLE Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Still remember being round my dad's mates house watching this one, he'd just had a brand new cream carpet and i had a pint of coke...then we scored. I'll leave the rest to your imagination, haha.
Webbo Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Has to be my favourite football memory . Years of supporting City never thinking we'd win anything or play in Europe, that season most of us would have been happy just to finish 4th from bottom. Also, I used to hate Pearson in those days
DJMadness29 Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Went to both Wembley and Hillsborough, Both great days out, remember sitting in the park outside the ground from early in the morning, was a really sunny day and if i remember rightly we had a big game of footy in the park, just loads of random fans. Was it at hillsborough that there was a pitch invasion by the away team at the end and all the city players ended up in the corner between all the fans and just started removing the clothes (tops, shorts, socks boots the lot) and chucking them into the crowd?
Corky Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 What a season for Middlesbrough. Two cup final defeats and relegation.
loAf Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 was an awesome night, went with my dad, i must have been only 14. took us more than 6 hours to get home to leicester, and had no voice for 2 days, but worth every bit of it. bought the dvd finals collection that has this on, love rewatching them. anyone who doesnt have it it is well worth getting, think it was only a tenner.
