Corky Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Should always be remembered and the ambition to get back to those nights should be the aim.

Legend_in_blue Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 I was there. Good memories, but...15 years ago? Where does the time go? If we had a Lennon and Parker type in our midfield, we would walk this league.
Babylon Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Looking back at all city's big games back then, the number of times Walshy picks a goal scoring pass, wins a header to set someone up, or scores a goal himself is unreal. Almost every highlight has him involved. If I could get two players back it'd be him a Lennon.
m00nie Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 I was there. Good memories, but...15 years ago? Where does the time go? If we had a Lennon and Parker type in our midfield, we would walk this league. glad you mentioned him, he seems to get overlooked when people talk about teh old days yet he done us well.. usually izzet/lennon, then savage.. great night though.. as someone mentioned before glad to have been there.. see Ian Haggis Carmichael in the video at the end if anyone knows him
red5 Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Great night, I was there, Who was the cart-horse for middlesbrough wearing no 5
acooling08 Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Is it Pearson who gets beaten in the air by Walsh to set up Claridge? I wish I was born 10 years before I was. Missed such a golden age.
dave_the_fox Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Real shame we didn't win this at Wembley. A wins a win though
pSinatra Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 I couldn't get tickets to this. I was at university in Sheffield & tried to get tickets direct from Hillsborough, but couldn't. Watched it in the Springvale pub & remember it like it was yesterday. Proud to be a Leicester fan
Jay Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 I guess it would have been a great opportunity to bring some of the faces back tonight from the winning team at half time, give us something to cheer, guess that would be to much to ask for though
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Proud to say I was there that night, went with my best mate since childhood who is sadly not with us anymore, so many memories.
FrankieADZ Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 wow....doesnt seem that long ago. Still remember it like it was yesterday aswell. Ah...the good times
AyewJoking Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Listened to that on the radio whilst on the park with my mates. Brought a tear to my eye watching that.
coolhandfox Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Great time to be a city fan, great memories, can’t believe it that long ago.
WillyBeet Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 I've been trying to find that picture of Lennon wearing just his pants on the pitch at the end of the game, but I'm not having any luck - anyone got it?
purpleronnie Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Real shame we didn't win this at Wembley. A wins a win though Hillsborough>wembley
TrentFox Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Thanks Davie. Still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up ! Even though I know it goes in, I still find myself holding my breath in case the keeper reaches Claridge's shot !!! Remember it so clearly - literally no voice left by bedtime ! It's such an emotive piece. It's also a simple motivational piece used with athletes - make a similar montage of their best moments, put their favourite track over it, when they are warming up they listen to that track from the video montage, gets those images running in their heads, increases likelihood of them competing in confidence. Pavlov's dogs and all that !
dave_the_fox Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Hillsborough>wembley Maybe, but I went to the draw at Wembley and not the hillsborough game
Phil Gee's Mullet Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Happy Days! The one and only time I have ever took my shirt off at a game and swung it around my head!
Grey Fox Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Great night! I was there. Great to experience winning a cup in a night game. I still think we got a little lucky that Schwarzer missed that game, but you need a bit of luck to win a cup.
Phil Gee's Mullet Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Too true, great night all round I remember our fans being awesome on the night, can't believe how young MON looks in that vt guess I'm just old now! aha ha
