1884Fox Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/7665737/Eyes-on-Robinson The 23-year-old joined Derby last summer on a permanent deal from Millwall and has quickly established himself as their leading striker. He has already bagged 11 goals this term and his performances in the Championship have not gone unnoticed. Premier League clubs are known to be monitoring his progress, but Sky Sports also understands a number of Championship clubs are ready to test Derby's resolve. Birmingham City, Blackpool Leicester and Leeds United are all believed to be monitoring his situation closely. Do we really need this guy?

Very similar to what we've got in my opinion. 11 goals is nothing prolific either.
Jimothy Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 Is he the best we could get? No. Do we need him? Yes!!!!! One thing we've sorely missed this season is options, especially up front. We've had Beckford and Nugent who arguably are good enough for this division and have plenty of experience whilst not being past it. After that we had a 35 year old who's only effective every now and then, an inexperienced 19 year old and then it's the youth team. We need a couple of Theo Robinson's and Adam Le Fondre's and Jason Roberts, etc just to give us options up front rather than relying on kids and OAP's.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 NO!!!! He's not that good and never has been. Beckford, Nugent and Waghorn are all better plus maybe even Schlupp... We can and should be going for better!
FrankieADZ Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 hmmm....the article is from the 11th April....we've been linked to many a players since then
Guest foxestalkisfullofidiots Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 I work with a few Derby season ticket holders and they really don't rate this guy, but it could just be that he is playing in a really poor team they all agree that he has lighting pace so with better service he might be able to do the business.

Sounds like Beckford
Guest NGoloMode Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 We were offered him before in a swap with Howard when he was at Huddersfield if i remember correctly. We don't need him imo.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 Don't need him we only need a couple of strikers then we have enough options, therefore I would have Beckford,Nugent,Waghorn,Vardy/Cox,Heskey/ Wood/Kane!! I would be more than happy with 5 of these!!

We can and should be going for better! Beckford & Nugent are both good enough to start upfront next season imo. It's the service they receive which is lacking and needs addressing.
