Couldn't find a thread on Guardiola, but I'm intrigued to know wether anyone has a list of all his transfer dealings in his 4 years ..

Someone suggested to me the other day that he hasn't spent wisely.. so does anybody have the 'Ins and Outs' during his regime? Cheers

Pretty sure he paid €65million or so + Eto'o + Hleb for Ibrahimovic. Not a great move, really.

Biggest flop has to be Dmytro Chygrynskiy surely? Bought for €25 million from Shakhtar, played a dozen games in La Liga, sold back to Shakhtar for €15 million. Crap business.

The system as these clubs is completely different to here.

They have a 'Manager' or director of Football that does the hiring and firing, and the coach is just that, the coach, and does'nt really get involved in the comings and goings.

Surely it's the coach that picks the team and decides whether or not certain players are surplus to requirements?

By the way, I'm surprised Yaya Toure hasn't yet been raised in this thread. Barca wanted to keep him, but couldn't compete with what Sheikh Mansour was offering him to move to Manchester.

Of course he picks the team, but if your club have just spend a fortune on player X and you left him out and told the press you think he's useless you would be down the road pretty quick.

There is a manager that comes to mind, at a certain English lower-league club, who has done precisely that. His club's owners, and the majority of their fans, still back him, though.

But I won't name him because he definitely doesn't bear comparison with Pep...
