Greetings Cards

How Greetings Cards are changing

It's getting very commercialised what cards do or would you send?

Do you just do the main events like birthdays, weddings/anniversaries, Christmas or have you succumb to commercial pressure?

Easter cards, once unheard of, now make up a significant portion of the spring season card sales - the period that includes Valentine's Day and Mothers' Day.
"There's a card for passing your driving test, cards to congratulate you on your divorce"

The greetings cards industry is massive in the US, but the custom is not uniformly observed everywhere.

"Sending cards is a very British thing," Little says. "I have a few French friends who think we're all a bit potty for doing it, but it's engrained in our social culture - it's what we do."

I've been pretending to have Alzheimers for a few years now , so no one expects me to remember to send stuff like that .

To be honest I don't really bother any more, such a waste of card, I tell people not to send me one either (right miserable cvnt aren't I).

I would much rather receive a phone-call or an e-mail.

cards serve 2 purposes, one to remind someone you are thinking of them, which can be done in so many other ways now, to amuse someone with a funny, pretty, arty, shiny picture, which lets be honest they rarely do, most are shit.
