As he's been taken to hospital it's more than likely that he'll have had to have provided sample of blood. The result won't be known for weeks.

For once, I kinda agree with Stu.

What he (Johnson) did was reckless and stupid, but people are being far too quick to judge him and loosing sight of their own flaws. If you've had a couple of pints the night before and then driven the following morning - you're over the limit and are technically drink-driving. It may be semantics, but if you've done so (as I imagine many have), then to cast such critisms on Johnson is slightly hypocritical no?

My cousins friend got to the police station after being arrested of drink driving and he asked for a blood test by the time the doctor arrived the alcohol level in his blood had gone down so he got let off.

Which hasn't happened in this case which is why he is reported as being arrested and not de-arrested.

You get arrested if you fail a 'roadside' breath test (this test holds no evidential value), or if they have reasonable suspicion to believe that you may have been drinking but aren't able to breathalyse you at the roadside. I can think of a fair few cases where a person has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and then has then gone on to provide a good sample on the Police Station intoximeter.
