Guest Bilo Posted 9 June 2012 Posted 9 June 2012 it was all created by Jesus's biological father.. talking of which, how did he plant his seed without Mary noticing?? And lo, the LORD didst slippeth a Rohypnol into Mary's drink so he could sow his oats. He did climb on top of her and sayeth 'Mary, thy muff is a miracle' and did bloweth his load inside of her and across her face saying 'Let there be no police around.' And it was good.
Rincewind Posted 9 June 2012 Posted 9 June 2012 Wasn't it Douglas Adams that said 'Isn't enough that we have a beautiful garden without seeing fairies at the bottom of it' Believes say believe in him and you will see him, but I want and see a lot more. How the universe began does not matter the fact that it is there is good enough. But Man has had a curiosity and inquisitive nature from the time they developed a brain so will continue to search for answers until the sun dies or destroy the planet themselves.
Guest Posted 10 June 2012 Posted 10 June 2012 The answer, of course, is Mathematics. No, I think Adams said the answer was 42.
BoneDog Posted 10 June 2012 Posted 10 June 2012 Take an hour out of your day, make yourself a cuppa and enjoy your learning. That video reminded me of something I saw a while back. This is well worth a watch and it shows that science is basically saying, (regarding time, the end of the world and the Creation of a new one afterwards), what the Quran mentioned 1400 years ago. Science has added some explanations, but the overall picture is the same. Stick with it y'all, it gets interesting. "As We began the first Creation, We will repeat it. That is a promise binding upon Us. Indeed We will do it." - Quran 21:104 As others have said in the thread, this is an awesome subject that really boggles the mind and will do forever more.
BoneDog Posted 10 June 2012 Posted 10 June 2012 No, I think Adams said the answer was 42. Ah, but I was answering the op's question and not the question from a group of hyper-intelligent pan-dimensional beings in Adams' book! Edit : I've just realised that they are probably the same questions.
BoneDog Posted 10 June 2012 Posted 10 June 2012 Sir James Jeans knew what's crackin.- "The Great Architect of the Universe now begins to appear as a pure mathematician." Although he didn't know how (which we can't hold against him, being as no other human will ever know either) the universe was Created, he knew it is founded on mathematics. So that proves it, mathematics is the best answer. Oh, and the quote from Sir James also proves that there is a God HIGH FIVE. End of debate.

So... god is a mathematician? no wonder his son was all about the Geek inheriting the earth n sh1t. The minute "god" can tell me what 2+2 equals... ill believe “I'd take the awe of understanding over the awe of ignorance any day.” Douglas Adams - The Salmon of Doubt
