Stig the Lawnmower Posted 12 June 2012 Posted 12 June 2012 Was in the newsagents today and caught a glimpse of the headline on the Sun. it went something like : Yippee, a draw! and continued along the lines of ' england fans were celebrating a DRAW today.............. sarcastic or what? after the taking the piss out of the way Roy Hodgson talks a few weeks ago, it makes me wonderwhether they support England at all. and this from the newspaper that accused liverpool fans of rifling through the pockets of the Hillsborough victims. personally I wouldn't even wipe my arse with the sun.
Guest MattP Posted 12 June 2012 Posted 12 June 2012 It's a shit paper and anyone who reads it must have the attention span of a fish and the IQ of a mouse, that said my Uncle was at Hillsborough and said some similar things to what the Sun did, not the rifling through pockets but blocking and robbing of ambulances was seen by more than a few people I have spoken to who were present.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 June 2012 Posted 12 June 2012 I have to take issue with the title of the thread. It's a gutter rag, not a newspaper. As Steve Coogan said about its late and unlamented sister paper The News of the World; it's a misogynistic, xenophobic, single-parent and asylum seeker hating waste of paper and ink.
BoneDog Posted 12 June 2012 Posted 12 June 2012 I'm sure they have no love for England or the English. They enjoy taking the piss out of us and rubbing our noses in anything. They enjoy twisting our melons man. They're from, and belong to a different world. Impressive, only one swear word.
Leicester_Numan Posted 12 June 2012 Posted 12 June 2012 It's red top bog roll. I haven't read the Sun since all the bullshit stories about Numan in the 80s. It obviously hasn't changed
1964FOX Posted 12 June 2012 Posted 12 June 2012 I'm sure the headlines for our departure from the euro's are already written. They can't wait to lambast any England manager and Roy seems to be right up their street as the next victim. Fiesta has more intellectual content than that rag.
Captain... Posted 12 June 2012 Posted 12 June 2012 I hate the Sun as much as the next man, but they kind of have a point, we are a little to happy we managed to nick a draw against the French. If we had been under siege all second half, or the French had looked world class, then maybe but, but in reality we bossed a game until we scored and then sat back and conceded a sloppy goal because we were too deep, and then continued to play too deep for the rest of the game. They were there for the taking and we bottled it by being too content with a draw, and then to celebrate like it was a great achievement is also a little small time, we can take positives from that game, but all our failings under Capello were all to evident again yesterday.
21st Century Fox Posted 12 June 2012 Posted 12 June 2012 Considering the preparation time and injury list, I can understand the relief/sense of achievement from getting a draw against a team on a 21 match unbeaten run.
MooseBreath Posted 12 June 2012 Posted 12 June 2012 our failings under Capello were all to evident again yesterday. They weren't. The Germany debacle wouldn't have happened had we played like we did yesterday. We still would have lost, but it would have been nowhere near as farcical.
