Captain... Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 Where do you hide your money? $21tn: hoard hidden from taxman by global elite I hide it in the till down the pub, slow steady deposits, I must have a small fortune in there by now. Re: the trilions in wealth held in off shore tax havens, I'm actually just getting to the point where I have just stopped giving a shit about these cvnts, the world is getting more and more fvcked up and there is no sign of it changing, because we are greedy by nature that is why we are where we are, at the top of the food chain, unfortunately it is still the greediest most ruthless that get to the top and get all the power.
sphericalfox Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 It's the social welfare leeches screwing the economy not the rich lads giving us all jobs.

Rincewind Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 If it was shared out the same greedy sods would still end up with the majority of it because those that believe in fairnes would have theirs taken off them to help the poor buggers that the greedy sods robbed. ??? I think. Well I think some will understandthat.

Zingari Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 I've got an idea ! Basically we could send the army into one of these island tax havens , let's say the Cayman Islands, and just put out a story that they were developing nuclear weapons or being cruel to alligators or something as an excuse . We could then nick all the money and pay off the national debt . We could admit a few years later that they didn't have WMDs but continue to claim that they did beat the alligators with sticks and they really needed sorting out for that anyway . Simples
MooseBreath Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 Doesn't seem to be anything to do with the UK really, infact we might have benefitted from this. Most of the capital flight occuring is from Russia and the middle east. One place the rich from those countries like to invest is the UK, so maybe we shouldn't complain too much. Capital flight from the UK itself doesn't even get a mention. I assume this is because we already have systems in place to avoid it happening. I don't doubt that the rich in this country do avoid tax where loopholes exist and we should definitely be working towards closing them and making tax contributions more fair, but as far as this report goes, unfortunately for some of you there's nothing that you can blame your failures on this time. Perhaps when the full report is released tomorrow we'll know more, though. One certainly wouldn't suggest taking the word of the guardian over tax avoidance issues.
Rincewind Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 If Britain benefits I don't see any of it being passed down to those that need it most. But as Moose says maybe the mail's version will satisfy people. http://quill2ink2paper.tumblr.com/
MooseBreath Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 Well what do you expect, a little note with your jsa which explains where each penny has come from?

Simples We already own the Cayman islands, they are under our jurisdiction, we just don't want to close their tax haven status. @moosebreath: it has everything to do with the UK, we own most of the offshore tax havens, Cayman islands, jersey, guernsey Belize, and many more.
Danizen Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 https://twitter.com/InjusticeFacts If you want to despair at how fvcked up the world is, have a read of that. "In 2004, 0.13% of the world's population control 65% of the world's financial assets" "1 in 9 African Americans are in prison" "President Obama has promised Israel $30 Billion over the next decade to supply their war machine against Palestinians." Just some of the subjects covered.

Oh, ok, well that's great news then. Hopefully these foreigners keep pouring their money into our banks.
Captain... Posted 22 July 2012 Posted 22 July 2012 Oh, ok, well that's great news then. Hopefully these foreigners keep pouring their money into our banks. But we don't see any of it because it is a tax haven, so it is of no benefit to us, and just because capital flight from the uk is not as big as other countries, it clearly happens and our own government and the previous ones, have done nothing to stop it.
