Rincewind Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 I think that`s called a fetish. I think that`s called a fetish. Why a fetish? If someone from Yorkshire marries someone from Devon isa tat a fetish?
I am Rod Hull Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 Why a fetish? If someone from Yorkshire marries someone from Devon isa tat a fetish? Yes, some people get turned on by regional dialects.
ADK Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 I thought this was a thread for left wingers, not one for right wingers to make idiots of themselves.
The Doctor Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 I thought this was a thread for left wingers, not one for right wingers to make idiots of themselves. Aah, it's cool. It's a chance for us to sit back, and let the humour come to us.
Rincewind Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 Yes, some people get turned on by regional dialects. So liking a person's personality and having an interest in the same things is a fetish? i do not see that having an interest in another country's culture as a fetish. Maybe some go on holiday abroad to sit on a beach, eat fish and chips in McDonals and hang about in British themed pubs, but many people like to mingle with the locals regardles of their skin colour.
Rincewind Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 This is how racism takes root The different ways the media covered two cases of men grooming children for sex show how shockingly easy it is to demonise a whole community http://www.guardian....cism-takes-root I'd copy the text, but there's a lot of it. Exactly. I agree. It's like saying a glass is half empty or half full. The way it is said can make a diffrence to those holding the glass.
Captain... Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 Yes, among the young. Somewhat among uneducated middle age women. Very rarely among educated women. This is just truth. Anyone trying to deny it is doing so because THEY have associated it with racism which doesn't exist, and are then trying to clamber aboard the moral high ground. Really typical of a left winger tbh. Pathetic. Who's a left winger? If you mean me, you couldn't be more wrong From the far right everyone appears to be on the left. Moosebreath called you a lefty, You said you weren't, I pointed out that left and right is relative, so to someone on the far right (cheeky wink to Moosebreath) someone less extreme, but still on the right, would appear on the left to him. AND YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK, MUFFIN FACTORY!
MooseBreath Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 Seems like the definitions of left and right on this forum are: Left: aggressively anti-racist, will actively seek opportunities to convince everyone how not racist they are; anti anyone more successful or richer than them because they are clearly immoral and obviously to blame for everything; possess an illusion of superior culture and intelligence; more than likely fall into the 100-115 iq bracket and haven't read many books; belief that the poor are victims in need of help and, like their anti-racism, their willingness to stand up for the poor is viewed by them as an indication of superior morality; believe in government intervention only when it suits them and especially not when it restricts their abiliy to download free movies; don't fully grasp how the economy works or understand their part in it so are constantly proposing new, comically flawed ways to run the economy which they think will make them better off but actually won't. Right wing: exists in reality.

Now you see what you have done here is confuse the various differing views of all of those that disagree with you, with a wide ranging political spectrum, within which you can find contradictory arguments. I'm sure the irony of accusing all those that disagree with you as having a superiority complex, whilst belittling their IQs was deliberate.

AND YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK, MUFFIN FACTORY! I suppose you're right there but i'm really not a leftie. I've voted Labour once in my life. That was in the last council elections and only because the Labour councillor had got off his backside and helped me get security doors put in. Something i'd been trying to get the council to do for 10 years and got loads of false promises and no delivery. As for my politics i'm right of centre but not right wing and definitely not a leftie

Right wing: exists in reality. [ To blance it but it doesn't apply to all. The definition of right wing. Anyoneone who has a few grand in the bank. 2.4 children. Thinks that anyone on a low income should be in a workhouse. Think that all perpratratrs of crime should be locked up with just bread and water. Anyone without an English name should be deported to wherever they or their ancesters originate from. Anyone who is unemployed sgould be forced to work regardles of their physical, mental or bedridden status. If not should receive nothing in benefits and if they own a house they should sell it and go and live in a hostel among all the druggies and alcololics. Prisoners should not receive an education. Any non-white should not receive an education or medical care. And of course they are a Daily Mail reader where they get all their information and updates of how to think from. That's about it. Thought Moosebreat definition should be balanced in the same way despite it seeming ridiculous. I think I have hit a pretty wide spetrum of the right of centre. Just a comment on the first point highlighted. I am anti racist because being racist is wrong.. I do not see that as being agressive. Being racist is agressive as it is denying a persons right to be a human being because of their race or colour. To single every moderate who belieives racism is wrong as a loony agressive leftie is unfair on many people.

The Doctor Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 You don't read much Gaz? Thanks to my lefty superiority complex, I'm gonna have to stick you on ignore.
