Captain... Posted 29 July 2012 Posted 29 July 2012 Censored on grounds of stupidity. How can I believe you, when you seem unable to read and understand a post containing a 2 straightforward sentences. Obviously you don't have the capacity to understand the implication behind a sentence like " This was supposed to be a representation of modern life in England but it is likely to be a challenge for the organisers to find an educated white middle-aged mother and black father living together with a happy family in such a set-up. " It is that mixed race families are inferior, because no educated woman would end up with a black man. If you read my sentence again, slowly, maybe run your finger along the screen while you do it, you will see that I was referring to the members of their readership that believe in white superiority and that all blacks and immigrants are ill educated scum bags. A readership they pander to with articles like the ones referenced. And as for factual inaccuracy, it wouldn't be that difficult to find, hey I found one, in an article in a newspaper, you'll never guess which one: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2045815/Our-love-colour-blind--families-werent-Mixed-race-couples-generations-tell-stories.html
MooseBreath Posted 29 July 2012 Posted 29 July 2012 If you want to read racist undertones into it then that's your prerogative. It can just as easily be seen as a perfectly innocent observation because, afterall, it is correct.
Captain... Posted 29 July 2012 Posted 29 July 2012 If you want to read racist undertones into it then that's your prerogative. It can just as easily be seen as a perfectly innocent observation because, afterall, it is correct. So answer me this one simple question, why have they removed that particular passage from the article and replaced it with something very very different: UPDATE: That was quick. About five minutes after I posted, the Mail’s story was ninja edited, without acknowledgement, to remove the most outrageously racist lines. Where once it read : “This was supposed to be a representation of modern life in England but it is likely to be a challenge for the organisers to find an educated white middle-aged mother and black father living together with a happy family in such a set-up. Almost, if not every, shot in the next sequence included an ethnic minority performer. The BBC presenter Hazel Irvine gushed about the importance of grime music (a form of awful electronic music popular among black youths) to east London. This multicultural equality agenda was so staged it was painful to watch.†It now reads: “This was supposed to be a representation of modern life in England but such set-ups are simply not the ‘norm’ in any part of the country. So why was it portrayed like this and given such prominence? If it was intended to be something that we can celebrate, that two people with different colour skin and different cultural heritages can live harmoniously together, then it deserves praise. But what will be disturbing to many people is top-down political manipulation – whether consciously or unthinkingly – at a major sporting event.†And it is not correct as I have just proved, it took me 1 minute on google to find an example of middle aged educated white woman married to a black man, in an article by the Daily Mail. That was not a challenge.
MooseBreath Posted 29 July 2012 Posted 29 July 2012 If indeed they have, probably because they know people like yourself and the blogger who are so utterly desperate to find examples of racism which they can get all righteous about will start moaning and potentially start some dreadful, ill-informed bandwagon of ignorant hate which damages their reputation.
Captain... Sadly the ill informed band-wagons of hate only serve to increase their reputation, which is why they wouldn't have changed unless they were going to get in trouble for it. Apart from the perceived racial slurs, it is not correct, I don't expect you to have read the link I posted, so I have highlighted some bits from it: Tony, 54, runs martial arts fitness company, Fighting Fit. He is married to Jan, 51, and the couple have a ten-year-old daughter, Toni. They live in South London. Jan is white and Tony’s parents are originally from Jamaica. When Tony and I married in 1996 I was the first person in my family to marry a man who wasn’t white.Mine was a very traditional middle-class background — my family are Home Counties’ farmers and I was privately educated. Educated white middle aged woman, married to a black man, happily and with a child, pretty much covers all the bases, that was not a challenge to find.
MooseBreath Posted 29 July 2012 Posted 29 July 2012 You don't see how the fact that you're referring to articles in which the subject is the abnormaility of these relationships defeats your point? What was apparently written in the daily mail, was a simple observation that educated white women and black male relationships are not common and thus aren't particularly representative of British society. It did not say such relationships do not exist. Clearly they do, but they are a tiny minority.

What has the education of the white woman got to do with anything, it can serve no purpo... Ah fvck it, you are boring me now, I'm going to go and pour shards of broken glass down my japs eye and have a wank, it would be more fun than feeding a pathetic troll.
Finnegan Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Did anyone else find themselves backing Bane during The Dark Knight Rises? I've been on the League of Shadows' side since Batman Begins. Reg D Hunter had it right, Batman is a Conservative's wet dream.
Nick Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Just read the first chapter of Jon Ronson's 'Them: Adventures With Extremists' Chapter 1 is Ronson shadowing the activities of Omar Bakhri Mohammed and is very 'Four Lions' cracking stuff which makes a great case for freedom of speech from fundamentalists as they provide so much entertainment and stupidity. I suppose though it's a bit of a Catch 22 if Nick Griffin was bright he'd be dangerous but how do you hold those beliefs and be 'bright' I suppose there's the Hitler argument.......

I think there are plenty who hold these beliefs, and some of those are in powerful positions, but are too smart to let them be known.
Rincewind Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 If the Daily Mail didn't exist the left would have to invent it. A nasty right wing bogey man to blame for the fact that no one cares about their crackpot ideology. If it didn't exist there would be another paper printing what they do. In the same way that if the Bible didn't exist preists would preach from Harry Potter. The mail can be a good thing. Everytime I see an article from it my views move further to the left. Or at least they do not draw me iin as part of their congregation.

Rincewind Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Panaramo was interesting. The best part was when someone from the government was asked abour if there were targets for acessors to meet in getting disabled people back to work. 'I can definately say catagorically with abosulute certainty with no fear of being wrong and abosolutely that therte are definately no targets to meet.' That was true but a paper was shown that indicates that forcast of what the goverment would like should be met. The ones doing acessments are hired by the government. There was one woman whose husband has to take to the loo and stay with her and she was given a pass. They a third win their appeals.
ADK Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Its like driving instructors, they are told to pass a certain percentage and if they pass more or less than that percentage then they get investigated. So they make sure they pass somewhere within that percentage.
Rincewind Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 I know they probably picked the worst examples out, but surely if somebody goes to the asseser and their medical record says they have a severe or lung condition then it is obvious they are most likey unfit for work. There are people with disabilities that work but they are normally mentally able to do non physical roles. One of them in the program was even passed whille he was in a mental institution after being sent there by doctors. I do know someone however who although has bad knee joints and on pain killers travels to Sheffield and Derby 2/3 times a week for a pub tour. He has it all worked out for the minimum of travel by foot. Goes Sheffield, catches tram gets off at a pub stop at the end then catches a bus back stopping 2 or 3 times at pubs on the route. Al together 10-15 pints. He says sometimes his knees are unbearable and needs operation on them. He could have them done but the NHS will only do one at a time. His consultant said he'd do it privately for a price but turned it down. He's in his 50's and not worked for over 10 years. He goes doctors who says Are your knees any better and he rplies no still suffering. I've heard he borrows his mothers walking frame for check ups. It is the genuine ones that are going to suffer. it is only half a per cent of the disability side that are not genuine. A lot will suffer to catch those few.

This is Leicester, have you not noticed that these relationships are quite common, especially among the young. There was a white woman and black man living together, with a child in a flat downstairs from me not so long ago. I've also known black female/white male relationships although that isn't so common. I don't think the opening ceremony and Mail article are worth getting worked up about either way
Daggers Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 This is Leicester, have you not noticed that... MooseDaveler lives with his Mum and, as you can probably tell from his trolls, he makes out that he doesn't notice much at all.

I don't think the opening ceremony and Mail article are worth getting worked up about either way Yes, among the young. Somewhat among uneducated middle age women. Very rarely among educated women. This is just truth. Anyone trying to deny it is doing so because THEY have associated it with racism which doesn't exist, and are then trying to clamber aboard the moral high ground. Really typical of a left winger tbh. Pathetic.
MooseBreath Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 So only thick women get in to mixed race relations? No, the comment was quite specific and left no room for ambiguity. You can try and twist it to suit your agenda if you want, but you will need to assume racism where there was none. And assuming racism just so you can pretend to be upset about it is absolutely pathetic. Laughable.
21st Century Fox Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 Yes, among the young. Somewhat among uneducated middle age women. Very rarely among educated women. This is just truth. MooseBreath Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 Is this information you've gleaned from the latest census or just observations from your office window? You're right, i have nothing more than anecdotal evidence at my disposal, but i'm pretty sure the census would indicate that the specified relationships are indeed a distinct minority. BUT THEN MAybe U KNO SUMFING I DON'T AND U GOT LOADS OF WHITE EDUCATED WOMAN FRENDA WID DER BLACK BOYFRIENDS COA ITZ CLEAR FROM UR POSTINGS U IS WELL SMART AND CULTURED AND DATS WHY U A LIBERAL COS LIBERAL LEFT WING IS DA CLEVERIST PLACE TO BE INNIT WOOOOOOOOOOO
The Doctor Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 Whether it's a minority or not is irrelevant - the article said you'd be hard pressed to find such a relationship, Shrapnel has blown that idea out of the water.
