Leicester City Football Club can today confirm that match tickets for the opening six home games of the 2012/13 season will be on sale from 9am on Friday 3 August.

A number of changes have been introduced for the new season, including a reduction in match ticket prices in the Marks Electrical Family Stand, a price freeze in sections of the Kop, East and West Stands, together with the re-introduction of a three-tiered match grading system. This will include the return of popular Fans' Fixtures, which will offer exceptional value for specially-selected games over the course of the season.

Susan Whelan, Leicester City's Chief Executive Officer, said: "The new Championship season is now less than three weeks away and with a local derby against Peterborough United to kick off the new season, preparations are being finalised in readiness for our first home game.

"We have been delighted with the early response to Season Ticket sales and there have also been record levels of business to welcome the new kit in our first year of our relationship with PUMA. The focus is now on trying to generate an incredible atmosphere on 18 August.

"There have been some increases in match ticket prices in some areas, but, for adults, 50 per cent of the public area stadium capacity will be available from £25 or less for Gold Fixtures and over 70 per cent of seats will remain on or under the £30 threshold. The Club have also continued their commitment to FREE Under 8s tickets in the Family Stand and tickets from just £5-a-game for Under-12s and from just £10-a-game for Under-18s.

"Of course, at the heart of our match ticket pricing model, we have taken extensive steps to guarantee that our Season Ticket Holders continue to get the best financial deal over the course of the entire season."

Key points regarding match ticket pricing for 2012/13:

- REDUCTIONS on match tickets in the Family Stand as part of the Club's continued commitment to encourage its next generation of supporters.

- FREE ENTRY for accompanied Under-8s continues in the Family Stand for Gold and Fans' Fixtures.

- PRICE FREEZES on match tickets in parts of the Spion Kop (SK1 & SK4), the East Stand (G1 & G2) and West Stand (B1 & B3).

- Match tickets for the Under-12s start from just £5.

- Match tickets for the Under-18s start from just £10.

- Match Tickets for the Under-22s start from just £10 for Fans' Fixtures and from just £15 for Gold Fixtures.

It doesn't mention if it's more expensive to pay on the day or not. It has been for the last few seasons, If it is £25 on the gate in a few areas for gold fixtures then that isn't too bad. I get the feeling it will be more expensive tho.

Makes you want to vomit when they actually word it as if they are doing you a favour by freezing some of the prices.

This, the sad thing is they're not totally stupid, it probably means some people actually consider it a good thing, fvcking laughable.

But fair play, "fans fixture", liking that, that's something we've actually done well.
